I’ve seen blame that 3rd world hospitals cause the healthcare worker infections.

Watch the NOVA on ebola filmed in ‘95.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlLuS08A8TQ

They’re using nowhere near the precautions that are being used with this outbreak and yet the MD’s seemed to live through the experience just fine.

And all the other outbreaks in Africa involved 3rd world hospitals as well. Yet none of them spiraled out of control like this.

There may be an airborne component--if so the passengers on Sawyer's plane are likely doomed.

This is also the most intense outbreak ever. Medical supplies we virtually take for granted in the US would be in short supply over there already, but even more taxed by the number of patients.

Which would likely mean that they are being re-used, perhaps cleaned (perhaps badly) and re-used, and possibly damaged or contaminated in the process.

If they are being sprayed down, there is a possibility droplets with the virus are being distributed inside the PPE before it is re-used.

Can the virus infect transdermally? We don't know, but that might explain how health care workers re-using washed, but still contaminated PPE might become infected--especially if the virus made it to the inside of a glove.

Under the circumstances, and with health care personnel likely overworked, mistakes will be made, accidents will happen, and people will have some lapse in protocol which will cause them to be infected.

http://yabaleftonline.com/2014/08/satan-punish-sawyer-ebola-caused-bad-market-lagos-prostitutes-laments/

“The Ebola scourge has struck fear in many hearts and Nigerian prostitutes have said that this is affecting their business.

The sex workers, under the umbrella of the Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, sent out a warning to all the women of the night in the country.

This was disclosed via a statement prepared after a meeting of the organization in Lagos on Monday.
It reads:

“Some of us met yesterday in Lagos to discuss on how to sensitize our members against the disease and we are calling on them to be very careful, if possible ‘hang boot’ for now till the federal government finds a lasting solution to the killer virus.

“Once a member contracts the dreaded virus, the entire country is in trouble, and to avoid that, we want both customers and patrons to be very careful.

”We will still be meeting in Agege, Lagos on Wednesday (today) to campaign against the killer disease, but we are still using this medium to call on all members of ANP to be guided accordingly as the government battles to conquer the disease.”

Meanwhile a prostitute in Lagos, identified as Franca, expressed her anger at Liberian, Patrick Sawyer to Daily Post.

She said:

“That Sawyer abi na Suya sef, na Satan go punish am. The guy na bad market. Since this Ebola disease enter Nigeria, customers have been running from us.” “Ebola or no Ebola, man pikin must survive.””
