I have spent a little time compiling links to threads about the Ebola outbreak in the interest of having all the links in one thread for future reference.
Please add links to new threads and articles of interest as the situation develops.
Thank You all for you participation.

“Profiting From Ebola?!”
“But for the countrys exposure to the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), many Nigerians may not have come to know what a hand sanitizer is, let alone the need for it for everyday personal hygiene.
It took the misadventure of American-Liberian born Patrick Sawyer, the index case, who imported the virus into the country, for Nigerians to fully grasp what a hand sanitizer is meant for a supplement or alternative to hand washing with soap and water....”
As I’ve speculated previously, West Africa will adjust to ‘ebola hygiene’. And ‘This is a good thing!’.

PPE just not up to snuff? Or just an accident?
Who knows.
(and they may know)
I suspect this strain may be a little more communicable than the 1995 one in Kikwit. If you watch the NOVA special on that outbreak you can see people in the PPE Brantly wore but also people in simple paper gowns, N95 masks and goggles. Who did not contract the disease.
Wow. I’m sure that’s a good link but it froze my PC.
I’ll have to get my hubby to see if it needs something I don’t have.
Sorry about that. It worked fine on my pc which surprised me as my firewalls are quite high.
My PC is ancient and probably bot ridden LOL.
I think giving any of that stuff the heave ho is going to be on my hubby’s ‘to do list’ (aka the honey do list) this coming long weekend :P
The site (thanks!) works fine on my desktop (Linux/Pale Moon).
The Relative Import Probability (RIP — rest in peace, gallows humor) is what you want to look at. It think it is explained pretty well in the tabs below. Basically, if you want to visit an airport terminal to dine at a restaurant or board a domestic flight, etc., pick an airport with a low RIP. Geographic distance and connections figure in, along with past traveler patterns. Common sense tells you to stay away from the international terminal altogether if it is separated. Heathrow is real bad.
I hope your wife's family in India are all doing well.
It’s in French.
The takehome is that there are 500+! suspect cases in DRC now.
Ah.
The astounding thing from that link is that this particular outbreak does NOT have a lower death rate at all. It’s just that initially most of the ‘cases’ were still sick. Since then most of those have become deceased.
Not good news
