This is the type of pistol we could see a James Bond villain using (a hint to filmmakers of the new Bond movie "Skyfall"). The AF2011-A1 "Second Century" incorporates the legendary John Browning M1911 design in both look and function.
The Italian manufacturer, Arsenal Firearms, states that the pistol will remain both ergonomic and easy to fire for anyone who can handle a regular 1911 pistol.
A little bit of background info on the company: formed by a firearm designer Nicola Bandini and gun miniature master Dimitry Streshinskiy (Russia). Arsenal owns a popular shotgun company Zanotti 1625, which has a pretty remarkable history of creating fine-crafted shotguns for well over 400 years.

Although this isn't the first attempt at a double barrel pistol design, Arsenal claims that they will be the first to produce the pistols for the public - in the 1990's a Swiss armorer Vivian Mueller produced a double-barreled 9mm Sig P220 firearm using two stock weapons, custom fabrication, milling and a ton of custom made parts.
I could see Bruce Willis with a couple of these.
I bet it weighs about 14lbs.
Interesting but a little unhandy for very little gain,
I remember when Gibsons discount store sold a little two shot .22LR pistol called the gaucho. It was sort of like a tiny double barrel shotgun. There was a hammer for each barrel and they were single, er double shot. Also a trigger for each barrel.
A solution without a problem.
If it used ordinary 1911 magazines and had a somewhat ordinary grip I’d go for it as a curio piece.
To fat for CCW. Looks like something that would be unlocked in Hitman called Ballers, or GTA5.
If a design could be made for two interlocking pistols, each sold separately but “connectible” and some solution to the problem of two closely spaced triggers could be be found, it would be a cool, in-your-face response to magazine limits. Each gun has a limited 8 or 10 rd mag but connected, I have a 16 or 20 rd weapon.
Other than that, I agree, a solution looking for a problem.
Well it would be more useful than holding your gun sideways so maybe they could use them in movies.
Sideways. Who doesn’t like hot brass down their collar?
Still only fires one barrel at a time, save your money and get a quality gun with a double stack mag.

Slightly more that 4 pounds, but still hefty
No way.
A solution without a problem”
I know, but for some reason, I love it anyway.
I saw one of those on display between Lackland and Kelley. I then read about the double mustang. It was a surprisingly good plane and performed well.
The only problem is it came out just as jets were making progress and could not perform with them.
It was the F-82 Twin Mustang, developed as a long range escort towards the end of WWII. It didn’t see action in that war, but did go operational, and IIRC, scored the first air-to-air kill in Korea.
Appears to be very well made but is also very heavy and the grips are huge! I have big hands and couldn't hold it securely.
Would be fun as a novelity but it is also expensive.
I don’t care, I want one.
