Conservative pundit Ann Coulter believes that the countrys growing interest in soccer fueled by Team USAs success in the 2014 World Cup - is a sure sign of America's moral decay.
Coulters reasons for hating soccer include that individual achievement is not a big factor, it isnt rough enough, and the fact that it's foreign.
As a conservative she argued that liberals only love soccer - and the metric system - because they're both 'European.'

That’s ok, you lot stick to thoseso- macho sports of baseball (game invented in England and based on girls game called rounders) or gridiron (aka padded rugby).
Baseball and ‘football’ aren’t American. Both are English by birth. Basketball was the idea of a Canadian, ice hockey is also Canadian, golf Scottish, tennis English. Lacrosse is Native American-French.
Kiwis though don’t run around screaming about it being ‘un-American’ or how its a communist plot.
Soccer caqn never be as boring as baseball or ‘football’.
At least a boring soccer game is over in 90m. A boring rugby match in 80.
Baseball and football take 3-4 hrs. And its our sports that are boring?.
And US soccer haters don’t understand the amount of tactics/strategy soccer has, so we get the silly comments about ‘its just running around.’
I find it ridiculous and frightening that supposedly sensible adults think a sport is somehow part of some great commie conspiracy.
BTW, if you and others knew anything about soccer, or even actually stopped to think for two secs, youd grasp that soccer is in fact THE most capitalist of sports: big money, big crowds, big TV revenue, big teams, small teams die off.
Its NORTH AMERICAN sports that are set up on a socialist basis: drafts, salary caps, no relegation........
Real lot of OWS-types right there. /s
To paraphrase the American Black idiom. ‘Its a black thing...’
“It’s an American thing...you wouldn’t understand” it’s a rugged individual thing, like packing a weapon and knowing how to use it... or playing NFL style football in a war like fashion(like rugby only with a more ridgid structure...btw I like rugby). Or Major League Baseball (thanks to the Brits for rounders and cricket) where there is a team, but it is the individual who can really shine.
We also say ‘counter-clockwise’. Spell ‘color ‘ without a ‘U’. And when we’re sick we go to ‘THE ‘ hospital.
PEACE (through superior firepower)
Yes, as a Scot, I wouldn’t know what its like to come from a race of rugged individuals.....
"Team!"
She went off her rocker some time ago with her Romney fetish, among other things.
I truly respect your highland ruggedness(not sarcasm). But lose the skirts, would ya?(sarcasm but with love) you guys still trying to split from England?
(I mean pants. Don’t just lose the kilts....btw my Celtic niece and nephews all play the pipes and wear kilts in a marching band... Myself, I’m of mostly eye-talian descent where they also play that godawful futabol)
That’s the Chicago way team. Great movie but not to heavy with facts.
Sorry, but baseball is as dull as dishwater, and is so slow, compounded by its length.
Gridiron takes 3-4 hrs to complete ‘60 minutes’ of ‘action’, and frankly why would I watch it when I can watch the REAL thing, its father, rugby. In fact I can watch THREE 80m rugby matches in the time it takes to watch a gridiron game.
Soccer is at least 90m of constant movement. By the time a soccer game is over, you are about a third the way through a baseball or NFL game. Yet apparently its soccer that boring and slow....
Actually I am a proud Lowlander (most Scots are Lowlanders or Borderers). Mum is of Highland descent though.
As to splitting, the UK/Britain and England are not the same thing. The UK/Britain/GB is England, Scotland, NI and Wales. We joined the UK in 1707. By choice, not by English conquest, like the irish and welsh.
I wish to remain within the UK. I am a patriot but not a Nationalist. I am proud to be both Scottish and British.
just felt a picture of Gibson as Wallace was appropriate.
been watching 'the Vikings' interesting dynamic between the Scandinavians and the Brits. lots of dramatization (as opposed to hard fact) I am sure, but interesting none the less.
my 1/4 British Isle genetics(my mother's, mother being 100%) is mostly from what is now the Republic of Ireland....but was part of Britain when the forebears left more than a century ago.
I’ve come to the conclusion that this “debate” is the worst part about soccer. On the one side you’ve got a bunch of hipster Euro-wanabe idiots claiming America is stupid for not liking soccer, on the other side you’ve got a bunch of chest thumping dipsticks who clearly don’t know anything about the sport or sports in general claiming it’s un-American and evil.
The reality is, everybody who takes a side in the quad-annual soccer argument is a moron.
Oh, we do say soccer is “un-kiwi” and doesn’t fit the rugged Kiwi outdoor rugged national characters.
Something is decaying alright, it’s Annie’s brain unfortunately. Add this to her Romney fetish and her GOProud fetish.
