This is the amazing design for NASA’s Star Trek-style space ship, the IXS Enterprise

NASA engineer and physicist Harold White announced a few years ago that he was working on a potentially groundbreaking idea that could allow space travel faster than the speed of light. Yes, like in “Star Trek.”

And now, to boldly go where no designer has gone before, Mark Rademaker — who is collaborating with White — has created a CGI design concept for the “warp ship.” They’re calling it the IXS Enterprise.

“We wanted to have a decent image of a theory conforming Warp ship to motivate young people to pursue a STEM career,” Rademaker said in an e-mail interview. “It does have some Sci-Fi features that might never transfer to a possible final design, unless we really want to.”

Are you kidding? Just add 3,400 kg of Unobtainium and watch her break the light barrier. Easy as pie.

” NASA engineer and physicist Harold White announced a few years ago that he was working on a potentially groundbreaking idea that could allow space travel faster than the speed of light. “

Is he going to Invent Warp drive or “Invent” warp drive by releasing what we already know?????

Just remember. Everything created by man was once considered impossible.

Why design something you know nothing about how to make it work?

In order to put a man on the moon, we had to invent the technology to invent the technology that made it possible to put a man on the moon.

That started with a single pronouncement by JFK that by the end of the 1960's, America would have a man on the moon.

First step to any technological breakthrough is to have a vision.

He wasn’t planning on it or even really working on it. But we did get his bill for services.

Where’s an accountant when you need one?

“We wanted to have a decent image of a theory conforming Warp ship to motivate young people to pursue a STEM career,”

Well, that’s a loftier goal than Muslim outreach.

This is one of the things that really ticks me off about the Democrats. We were going to be the generation that went to the stars! Look at us. The Democrats only concern is looting the public treasuries to enrich themselves. Obama has all the leadership ability of a dead squirrel.

Bwahahaha!!!!

Excellent rendition!

But since Michelle looks like a romulan, put 0 in a romulan uniform also.

Romulans were conniving liars, without honor.

Vulcans wouldn’t lie, and Klingons value honor.

Back to the topic...

To the naysayers upthread....

Don’t tell an engineer it can’t be done!

I can see X10 doing this; NASA, not so much. They still have way too much muslim pandering to do.

I think the German V2 rockets were not all that far away from designing a rocket capable of going to the moon.

To me the most amazing thing about the moon landing was that we could watch it happening on TV.

NASA has lost a lot of it’s mission focus and like any other government agency..is bloated. I look to engineers like Elon Musk to take us to the next step. Government project/award? Yes. But it is still a competitive process and he is challenging the big leagues. So far, I like what I see.
