Maybe it was some wise warning your dad once gave you, or maybe it was something useful your coach told you that still guides you today, but what would you consider that best advice you've ever received?
From the TI in Coast Guard boot camp:
You have one mouth and two ears for a reason,
so you should listen twice as much has you talk.
Tiger Woods dad told him to keep his eye on the ball and screw the rest.
Fully experience sad feelings like grief, in order to get to the other side. Pushing them away, you never get there.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth..”
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake..”
The second one is especially important to me, because it highlights the fact that doing right doesn’t guarantee that your life will be easy - and it may in fact be much harder. It’s much easier to accept getting betrayed or hurt while trying to do what’s right, if you remember that the right road is often the most difficult one - but is the road you should take.
the best advice I’ve ever received is, to open my heart to Jesus.
the second best advice I’ve ever received is, you are who you associate with - surround yourself with those who have admirable qualities so some rubs off.
Don’t tug on Superman’s cape.
Avoid slow horses and fast women.
Don’t pee on an electric fence.
Watch out where the huskies go, and don’t you eat that yellow snow.
At least let me do it until I need glasses.
A man’s a fool
and he should know it
who makes himself
a bathroom poet
Correct
Me and an acquaintance were in the woods when this bear comes from out of nowhere.
My ‘bud’ says lets get out of here and I stooped to make sure my shoes were laced and secured.
“Lets go!! You aint agonna outrun that old bear”
“I don’t have to outrun the bear. Just YOU.”
That noise your car is making is NEVER going to fix itself, it is only going to get worse, the worse it gets the more it is going to cost to fix; listen to your car, and your wife, and deal with things as they happen.
don’t trust government nor ever believe that government can ever work
I just made that up . but i ‘ve always believed that.
Sounds like that old Fram Air Filter commercial
“You can pay me now, or you can pay me later.”
“I have a pay phone and a wooden phone booth.”

That should now be a fine antique.
I think cell phones pretty much make all payphones obsolete.
Even in a third world country, most everyone, including kids,
have a “mobile”.
I will have to sell the phone booth, but I want to keep the pay phone.
Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.
“I will have to sell the phone booth, but I want to keep the pay phone.”

I would try to sell as a package. I think it is much more valuable that way. It should not be as hard to find a pay phone by itself.
