The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.
No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.

I just don't want you to abandon them, and cause their untimely death
I must not have the "casino" gene. I think I'd rather watch paint dry than gamble. Not only do I not enjoy it, I find it about as much fun as a trip to the Dentist.
“I find it about as much fun as a trip to the Dentist.”
I find it relaxing. Using physics and math, he usually wins and I want to watch that process. I want to see the lights flash and the sounds go off if he wins a jackpot. He goes to win, not lose. I usually set an amount to lose and stop there. We’ll see if he helps me win anything. My normal luck is zero.
One of the things I can't stand in casinos is all the lights and noise, but I hope you have fun with Mr. Possibilities.
Like yourself, I am NOT a casino person. Hiking, museums and gardening are my favorite recreations.
What kind of temps are you experiencing in Everett? It might be too cold still. I live in Massachusetts, and we had a low Wednesday night of 38 degrees.
As you can see, I have quite a bit of weeding to do.
I’ll be sticking to heirloom seeds from Baker’s Creek. To me one of the biggest dangers is to have a corporation own all the seeds, so that you are forced to buy seed from them and can no longer save your own seed for planting.
Even those who think GMO food is the answer to increasing production, should be able to see the danger in having a few companies control all the seed that can be grown.
Off and on 50s and 60s mostly, 40s at night. As I said, I think I’ll just go back to the Montana planting schedules. In the meantime I planted more lettuce. I’m experimenting with some red lettuce. I’ve always used black seed Simpson before. A couple of zucchinis are coming up. Since I had never planted them before I wasnt sure what the little ones look like but now I know.
I cleaned out a wheelbarrow full of morning glory on Memorial Day. Maybe I mentioned that already. And I’ve also used a bunch of the common area rhubarb. There’s also a common area herb garden which came in handy over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some things do grow year round here and of course there’s little or no snow.
Please add me to the ping list. Thanks!
