If you don't shower much - but generally keep that information to yourself because of the negative stigma - you're not alone. Following hot on the heels of the no-shampooing hair care revolution, some folks are taking the logical next step: If no or reduced shampooing results in healthier, shinier hair, what about skipping soaping up the body? Unlike the modified hair-washing schedule, which tends to elicit commentary about shampoos and parabens, conditioners and hair-drying time, skipping showers altogether seems to bring up plenty of other opinions on the subject. Many people who do shower every day think that not doing so is inherently wrong and unhealthy. It's assumed that people who don't shower on the regular are stinky and/or greasy and maybe even visibly dirty - and it certainly can't be good for you.

I once asked my Socialist sister if she believed in the Voluntary Human Extinction Project. She said ‘huh?’
And this assumption is perfectly accurate. You need to shower regularly. Otherwise you offend.
Every day? Depends on where you are and what you are doing. There have been days I have skipped but more days when I showered more often.
The author who thinks he had no body odor is out of his mind. And the cry that "the rest of the world doesn't" generally means Europe and frankly they stink. The bus could be full of people that had been sweating in the sun all day but they had found a faucet, washed off and put on clean clothes for the ride home. They did not stink. But let a couple of European tourists get on and you got a stench that would gag a maggot.
The idea that "people used to bath once a week" was also malarkey. Hot bath maybe. But during the summer you would find yourself tossed in a creek and a ball of soap thrown in after you.
16 years old and female? 3-5 times a day.
“Voluntary Human Extinction Project”
ROFL!! Nice title! Love it! I’ve asked a few libs if they were going to off themselves or go first to save the planet.
As long as you shower before you work out, regardless of the sweat which you towel off, you're good for the day............
I remember a guy from a racquetball club who obviously didn't shower often. Even the exercise equipment he used smelled after he left...........
Personally, I can't function until I have a hot shower in the morning.......
Ping to the Seinfeld episode with the stinky cab driver...........
“My very hot Texas wife says Id better not get within 10 yards of her unless I smell like springtime in Hill Country.”
I did better.
springtime in hill country.....isn’t that cattle moving season??? that usually spelled like heavy doses of cow manure
I don't do it for other people, I do it for myself. It feels good to be clean. I think I'll go take a shower right now! :)
Most weekends I don’t bother...unless I get sweaty or have to be with people I know (my wife and kids don’t mind...I think - LOL).
Going a week without showering is no issue, providing I’m not with people that I know.
Whenever I hear members of today's Rat leadership speak I desperately want to shower...with one of these.
OH YEAH Europeans! The stinkiest people I ever got stuck in a closed space with were French.
Guess what - you're not really keeping that information to yourself ;')
Wow, that is a problem!
I remember being a young teenager, maybe 12 or 13, entering puberty, and my ski bum uncle staying at our house for one of his drunken party visits home.
At the dinner table he turned to me and told me I smelled bad and that I should shower and use some deodorant...........
While it was probably good advice, it was the wrong time, the wrong place and definitely the wrong way to tell a young kid about hygeine......
North Central Florida in August, annual training/ARTEP in an artillery unit, displacing every few hours or oftener.
“Who wants a bath?”
Everybody on the deuce and a half for the tank trail ride to Sand Hill Lake for a bath with a gator guard with a rifle and spotter on the hood, just in case, pure heaven, got dusty again on the ride back but we were in clean drawers and didn’t stink.
Same for a winter ex in Germany, pop the cargo hatch on the 113, heat a quart of water in your steel pot on the squad stove, drop pants and at least wash off the top layer of funk, ahhhhh!
I’ve never understood why some people who shower only once daily do it in the morning. I guess they like to sleep in all the dirt they’ve picked up that day.
Daily. Twice if I do yardwork.
I’ll often skip shaving on Saturdays just to let my face rest.
