You mean like this? That's exactly what I did with the napa and daikon! How did you know? ;) And I'm not even Korean!

Thanks! I’m actually surprised they turned out!

The napa were transplants from the nursery and the radishes were from seed. I had them in raised beds, 8 inches high, and the radish started to push up from the dirt. That’s why it got green on top, from being exposed to light.

My lemon grass sorta took off. I had to repot a couple of them so I could get them grouped together for handling. I've got 4 more in water starting to put out roots that will need to be put in pots soon.

Your lemongrass did take off, didn’t it?

I planted potatoes today, and watered..since the water spigot wasn’t frozen. I hate thinking that after this neqr eighty degree glorious day....comes tomorrow with highs in the forties. Sheesh.

I have more potatoes to plant, but nowhere prepped for them. All the open space is spoken for with other crops. I may set up wire hoops and put the potatoes at the bottom and just pile on compost, and add more as the potato plants grow.

I was just reading a book on things to do to help you age better and live longer.

One thing they talked about was the indoor air pollution. They advise opeining the windows at least once a week, no matter what the weather.

They obviously ain’t from Missouri, or any states north of Missouri. LOL

Hi Greeneyes. Greetings from a cold cold Tennessee. We finally got above freezing today. Yippee!
This may be a bit off topic but your comment about “aging better” caught my eye. My dear older brother recommended a book to me that I have found helpful ( although the bible is the best book to prepare one for old age). The title is “ Too soon old, Too late smart” by Gordon Livingston. Catchy title. Easy to read. I recommend it to all fellow gardeners.

I’m so confused. I thought JRF mailed her sesame seeds.

No, I bought sesame seed flower seed and was going to send him some sesame seeds to eat when they were ready but that didn’t happen. I was doing that because he won’t plant a flower that doesn’t lend itself to eating. According to its press, this flower should have done it. I guess the flower didn’t get the message.

I have a habit of forgetting who told me what on here. I finally made a list of almost all of the names but I see names now that I didn’t see when I made that list.

My wire cages I made of chickenwire, and lined with planket fabric-(weed blocker would be fine, too)really were easy, and worked great for potatoes.

Your lemon grass look great! They do really well here in Phoenix even with our 110 degree summers and occasional freezes in the winter. All they want is regular water.

Be careful planting them in the ground or they’ll take over and people will need a machete to find a path to your house! :)

They are going in the ground Easter day. I've got an area that is perfect for them, and if it takes over that area, I'm ok with that. I really don't care for the neighboring church on that side of the property anyway. Psycho cult...
