Science Guy Bill Nye tapped on the podium, threw up his hands and said billions and billions in a Kentucky museum that has become widely known for teaching that the Earth is only 6,000 years old.
Nye was debating Creation Museum founder Ken Ham and promoting science in the snappy way that made him a pop culture staple as host of Bill Nye The Science Guy in the 1990s.
The event was meant to explore the age old question, How did we get here? from the perspectives of faith and science.

Actually, Nazism came out of evolution. It was thought as a more evolved form and government and was built around building a super race through evolution.
How do you compare a free market to Nazism? Robber Barons is a lie made up by the Marxists. They still vilify the wealthy as Robber Barons, perhaps you are on the wrong website?
Give one example of a Robber Barron, I can give numerous examples of govts that followed Darwinism and millions were murdered because of it.
This is why I say that using scientific consensus to determine 'facts' is dangerous. What instead should said is that this is what is 'currently believed to be true' and whether or not it is believed we should act upon it.
Currently the consensus is that life 'evolved' from simple to complex. Yet that is challenged by scientific observation of locked life processes and molecules. That is that X, Y, Z and T have to occur in exactly the right sequence or Death or insufficiency happens. Or that exactly just the right amount of X is provided and used or the whole thing fails.
My belief is that the discovery and dependency of science on understanding these complexities will force the theory of evolution and consensus to be changed and/or abandoned.
The demands of an ever more complex technical world will demand it.
As we learn more and more about science and life the more evolution falls apart. In 10 years nobody will believe in evolution and the Bible will still be alive.
Nye even through in the life came from space on a meteor to begin evolution. How would life survive the heat coming from space and where did that life come from? They can believe in alien life but not God????
Pray America is Waking
“As we learn more and more about science and life the more evolution falls apart.”
Who is ‘we’?
Nye doesn’t have a monopoly on that failing.
I guess that would depend on which year you are speaking of. A year is a complete rotation around the sun. This makes a year is relative to your location. A year on earth is not the same as another planet. One earth year is equal to approx 365 earth days while a year on Jupiter is equal to approx 4332 earth days. A year based on God’s location my be very different to one based on an earth year.
I also believe that the bible mixes heavenly time and earth time. I am not sure how to tell which is which but it’s obvious that a day is not always a day and a year is not always a year. Just my 2 cents....
> Nye doesnt have a monopoly on that failing.
Of course, but at least Ken Ham stated up front that his assertions about the past are based upon his FAITH on the Bible, NOT on ridiculously authoratative assertions based upon a pseudo-scientific theory that becomes ever more frayed as the intricacies of life become more known.
There are things I don’t know. There are things that you don’t know. There are things that humanity doesn’t know. That’s reality. Understanding that we don’t know things has led to an explosion in questions, research and rational study that have got us from where we were 500 years ago to where we are today - knowing a hell of a lot more than we did then.
He knows now.
"But Gods angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth.
But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such cant see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being.
So nobody has a good excuse. What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didnt treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand."
--Romans 1:18-23 (Message)
The real question is not whether or not you or I believe in creation or evolution. The REAL question, and the one evolutionists try to avoid, is whether or not you or I believe in the God of Creation and that His Only Begotten Son came to save the world.
The Bible doesn’t say it is, either.
The Bible told us the earth was round when most men believed it to be flat (Isaiah 40:22).
Was God orbiting something?
“Permeation” refers to God permeating the scientific process. I prefer the term over “intelligent design” which could be construed as any number of other Creationist theories.
MOST people KNEW the earth was round. A Greek feller named Eratosthenes PROVED it several hundred years before Christ by measuring the sun’s shadow at different latitude in Egypt. He even figured out its diameter within a few hundred miles.
The “flat-earth” theory was poppycock. People in the Middle Ages knew it was round. You can tell by watching a sailing ship sail out to sea. If the earth is small, the ship would get smaller and smaller and disappear. Medieval mariners knew that the hull disappears first, then the lower masts and spars and then the upper masts and spars. Could only happen if the earth was round.
Of course it is - every new species is recorded perfectly in the fossil record???
Exactly. Seven days could mean seven ages. The bible says a day unto God is like a thousand years. Is that a literal thousand years? Was Jesus being literal when He said to forgive someone “seventy times seven”?
