I had previously authored a vanity piece on this topic, hoping that I might have been overreacting or misinterpreting Glenn, but the recent antics are the final nail in the coffin.
Glenn Beck has actually moved closer to Robert Sarvis' politics than those of any conservative I know. Just wait till he starts pushing eco-crap.
No, better to just load up a compilation of Alex Jones and Michael Savage's greatest hits. That will essentially give you Glenn Beck, minus the left wing turn. I'd post links to the content I refer to, but I wouldn't want to drive more traffic to him. It's easily locatable if needed.
And just so I don't get accused of being a blog pimp by Humblegunner, I have included the post in its entirety here, so people know that this guy's 'project' has been taken over by collaborators.

Well said
Interesting and well written...
Yes I noticed the Pro Gay turn of Beck and other alleged conservatives. They had a similar pro-gay/anti-Putin whinefest on O’Reilly factor, w Mary Katherine Ham joining the pro-gay/anti-Putin chorus
Fortunately many of us are beginning to see thru the “Cult of Personality” with many of these faux con talkers...and listen to what they really say
Again, well said!
Libertarians gave us Harry Reid.
Reading through this thread, most of you are not here to praise Glenn Beck ............for enlightening the masses for years and rightly drawing attention to red flag issues like progressive politics......common core......anarchists & thugs in our present administration,.....abortion.....and his total & passionate support for our military
No, instead you are here to bury him,
....and I will have no part of this
Has it ever occurred to any of you to pray for him......thankful for all the good he has done, and yet mindful he is as human as you are!
Oh I knew this.
Sorry I’m not a liberal. Disagreeing with someone on an issue doesn’t make me hate them.
Glen Beck did something like this. When he had that show on FOX he would announce he had some major bombshell he will talk about several days later, and then when the day came, it was nothing of real importance.
Don’t care.
As a former subscriber to Beck, I get emails all the time. The latest had the subject line “Help”. Before that, they were titled with “Discount for you” headlines. I just delete them without reading, lately.
I stood up for Beck here, a few years ago. Now, I am simply back to my belief that there are no conservative saviors and no political or social saviors of any sort. Everyone once touted as such has turned out to be a main chancer. Beck is no exception.
My thoughts also.
His program comes on locally at 10 am. I change stations.
The first time I heard him was some years ago from a Wheeling station. Wow, refreshing.
Notoriety go to his head? He's definitely changed.
He didn’t stand with her....just stood with her right to say stupid things.
I like Glenn, but turn him off when he starts getting gooey. And I love Moron Trivia.
Well said, yourself!
Thanks for the correction. And I think More-on Trivia is just wrong.
I agree, agree, agree with you. My husband who has been dead for over6 years forbid Glenn Beck to be on the air waves in our home,
Fox has gone full-homo. O’crapbag leads the way.
You asked why I don’t like Glenn Beck. This fellow laid it out perfectly.
Beck is running into a conundrum because he prides himself as a libertarian, but he puts weight on his faith. He is setting himself up for a test of his faith he can't answer just yet. I have been though this myself. I have tried to be libertarian several times in my life, but eventually it becomes about more than a tax cut. When you say you are Christian first, you must be willing to turn on anybody or anything to follow Christ. I think it can be easily proved that God rejects homosexuality by any number of Bible verses that describe what He thinks of the practice. In Leviticus 18:22, He even says the LAND will vomit you out if you allow the abomination in your country. A homosexual is a sinner, just as we all are, and requires repentance and the Blood of Jesus to cover, for forgiveness, but if America allows the practice in law, I fear for America and God's judgement.
This thinking is waaaay over a libertarians thought process. If a homo is locked in a bedroom with their partner, they can't fathom what anyone would find objectionable and look at fellow conservatives as bigots. Beck is talking himself into a corner, but doesn't realize it yet. To keep his wide open to sin and filth stance, he must confront the Word of God with a raised fist, and declare, "I don't care what you think!" He says his faith is dear to him and saved his life. If that's true, he must make a choice and it would be a shame to pick Gladd. If he chooses God, you should expect the Duck Dynasty response of utter condemnation from the world.
If you look at the totality of libertarians, you find most are atheists, or they are in the same conundrum Beck is in now. You can't square Christ and libertarianism. S.E Cupp and Stossel have no problems because they don't believe in God. Eventually Beck will be destroyed, or disillusioned. He can't stay where he is.
This is a very good post.
Most accurate commentary yet. Thank you for that.
I think the problem is that most libertarians don’t actually know what libertarianism is, and its not a definite ideology. They will say they want drug legalization and the Fed dismantled, but will they declare they want public school abolished? Having the government educate kids is an affront to libertarianism, but they would likely shrink away from that. I think one can only conclude that libertarians today are actually just old-fashioned populists. They ride economic liberty because its in vogue, yet take social liberalism along with it, because its in vogue.
But its important to note this does not include all libertarians. Ron Paul has said some not very favorable things about homosexuals, and publicly declared in a debate that the government should not perform marriages at all.
BUT look at some of the people Paul associated with closely. His new home schooling curriculum is done in conjunction with one of the most prominent advocates of dominion theology, (also known as ‘Christian Reconstructionism’ or ‘Hard Theonomy’), Gary North. Paul has some roots in this movement as well. In fact, many on the left have accused him of being a front for people who want the federal controls dissolved so they can run individual states and townships as they see fit, under religious orders.
The libertarian movement in the US is not simple, nor anything fun to be poking around in. You need only attend a Ron Paul event to find some very strange people, not just conspiracy theorists.
But I don’t think Glenn is a libertarian. He’s just a populist. He’s trying to make money and he’s willing to disobey God to do that. He wants to be ‘trendy’ so he’s climbing in bed with the left. Like you say, I think he’ll end up destroying himself. “The Land will spit him out!”
Just a few years ago he was cheerleader in chief of the Iraq war. Beck would mock and attack callers on his radio show who were against the Patriot Act[circa 2002, 2003].
His latest shtick of acting like this comes from seeing how well real alternative media has done.
