Chicken Dinner Road is my old stomping grounds south of Caldwell and Nampa, Idaho. Signs get stolen all the time.

Chicken waited a little too long to try and make its escape.

Ok, now I am suspecting your new lady friend used you as an alibi. She innocently pecked on your front door at the EXACT TIME the crime took place? I think not.
To: dynachrome
That casualty figure wouldn't be pinned on an Owl/Hawk. Coyotes or Foxes are your suspects.

Yeah, they said a skunk was after them one time. Their dog chased the skunk with the usual results. Very smelly dog.

Wow, but would a bird kill that many chickens at once? Maybe a pack of dogs?

“Coyotes or Foxes are your suspects. “
This is not simple workplace violence. You cannot rule out terrorism at this time. Unless you have some kind of agenda. Are you hoping the killer is Christian?
To: dynachrome
Feed it some cracked up popcorn. (Unpopped) Give it a container of water also.

Birds of prey will not kill 13.
Sounds more like a raccoon. I've had experience with mass killing like this.

Fox probably. Neighbor sez some plywood sheeting came loose in the winds we have out here. However, with that many chickens running around, everybody showed up for din-din!

This is a domestic situation. We have accumulated evidence which will prove the chickens brought this on themselves, what with their raucous clucking and whatnot. The question of their faith or Tea Party affiliation is being studied by experts, but terrorism has been ruled out. Nothing to see here.

Raccoons r the usual suspects.

I appreciate your analysis, and concur. Perhaps one of the ladies was being asked to produce an unrealistic amount of eggs. It could very well be workplace discrimination. Do we know the country of origin of all poultry involved?
To: ToastedHead
Yeah, probably. Because it would be FUN....reading the comments. ;-) And reiterate that I live in ‘fly-over country’...which is the largest majority of America. And then silently yell to myself....”Happy, happy, happy.” And then.....thank God.

It would be helpful to us coastal folks if you could write a book on “Romancing the Chicken.” I’ve been all over this breaking news story, and I’ve had no intelligent advice (none, whatsoever) to offer the poor guy. Now, he has a funeral on his hands, and probably no second date with the girl chicken.

the only other chicken I have owned lived in the freezer in a plastic bag. How long did it live in there? There could be a Guinness Book record waiting for you...

We have Egg and I Road out on the Olympic Penninsula, near Port Townsend. Betty Mc Donald once lived there.
