However....
FTA:
Osteen has said numerous times that he believes living a homosexual lifestyle is a sin in accordance with his understanding of Christian scripture.
I believe the scripture says that being gay is a sin. But, you know, every time I say that, Chris people say, well, you are a gay hater and youre a gay basher, Osteen told Wallace during the interview. Im not. I dont I dont dislike anybody. Gays are some of the nicest, kindest, most loving people in the world. But my faith is based on what I believe the scripture says, and thats the way I read the scripture.
What is a church for if God approves of everyone and everyone is okay??
Kinda surprised he said it out loud.
Osteen MIGHT have continued by saying that while God loves all whom He has created, He does NOT approve of the gay lifestyle, or pedophilia, or infidelity or any number of behaviors of His beloved children.
Separated at birth from Jerry Seinfeld.
The Missus and I used to listen to Joel Osteen regularly a few years ago, every sunday, just before going to “real” church.
It’s not that what he said was counter to Scripture...it’s that he didn’t tell the whole story. It’s like a steady diet of only Twinkies. Tasty for a short while, but unfulfilling and unhealthy.
Ever hear him mention Jesus? I can’t recall him ever really talking about Jesus Christ, salvation, the alternative to salvation, etc.
Translation: I'm not here to preach God's word.

The YBPDLN Ping List is generally published infrequently, but based on the exploits of the megachurch pastors posts can spike for a period of time. If you would like on or off of this list please FReepmail me.
Joel Osteen is SO gay
Pretty sound generic Christian thinking:
God loves the sinner, but hates the sin.
I don’t know of a Church (Catholic, Protestant, or other) that disagrees with this, except the Westboro Baptists.
If they live, breathe and carry cash ... he got no prob.
I look at homosexuality as no better or worse than any other sin. For instance, if I knew of someone who was a serial shoplifter, I wouldn’t shout them down and denounce them in the street, but on the other side of the coin I wouldn’t excuse their behavior by saying, “Well that’s just how God made them....” or “The church better stop preaching that stealing is a sin, because we don’t want to scare away shoplifters and their families who might get offended.”
Ps 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
When we become a Christian we are now the home of the Holy Spirit, a NEW breath of life that is now spoken into our souls.
Osteen ping.
My favorite sermon is “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Jonathan Edwards.
Then what did Jesus die for? For the fun of it?
Osteen has fallen for that great error that public popularity is more important than truth. Paul, however, was not this thin. He notes that while homosexual inclinations are no worse that adulterous inclinations, or lying inclinations, or gossiping inclinations, none of these activities were to be endorsed. But, the homosexual community now wants everyone to say, their sin is not just “okay”, but it is to be lauded. Perhaps the adulterers will step up next demanding the same.
God loves us all, but hates some of our BEHAVIOR.
Uhhh,, shaking my head..
God loves homosexuals, more than I love my children.
But at times, my children earned my disapproval, based upon actions.
Love doesn’t mean approval.
