Here's What McDonald's And Dunkin' Donuts Had To Say About Customers Bringing Guns Into Their Stores
Yahoo! Business ^ | 9/20/13 | Ashley Lutz

This week, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz caused a stir by asking customers to leave their guns at home.

While Schultz stressed that customers who did legally bring guns into stores wouldn't be kicked out, the comments offended a lot of people

We asked two Starbucks competitors, McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts, if they had gun policies for their thousands of restaurants.

Both companies said they simply abide by the laws of that state or region.

The McDonald’s spokesman is lying. There are signs forbidding guns at the McD’s in Wickenburg, AZ.

From what I heard, Schulz basically got shot down by the laws here in Washington.

Open carry is legal here, and that applies to businesses offering services to the public.

Basically, if he has to serve Mocha-Grande-Latte-Whiz-Bangs to queers, he can’t discriminate against law-abiding open carry customers.

There are two Dunkin donuts near me. I love their coffee more than Starbucks. At certain times of the day I can always see local police getting their coffee fix with a sandwich or donut or some other yummy thing to eat. Yes, the cops have guns. Yes they get a served. No one notices or cares except small children who always ask “is that real”

I love Dunkin donuts.

It’s the loud mouth, in your face open carriers who caused all the stink at Starbucks. Is it (or should it be) your right to open carry? Absolutely. Does it advance your cause to pick a day to swarm an establishment just to rub the noses of the liberal patron’s noses in it? Not so much.

And then we have this story from earlier this year:

Police: Waffle House customer shoots would-be robber

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/police-waffle-house-customer-shot-would-be-robber/nY6pJ/

UNION CITY, Ga. —

Police said a customer at a Union City Waffle House shot a man allegedly trying to rob the restaurant Monday.

Chad Pollard told Channel 2’s Erica Byfield he didn’t have a choice and he had to act.

“When the gun was in my face I just thought I was going to die right then and there,” Pollard said.

Much more at the link.

The very first track I heard was “Step Right Up” on a local college radio station. I was hooked!

“Small Change” is an extraordinary album - every track a masterpiece. His 70’s albums are his best

He and Crystal Gayle did the soundtrack to a Francis Ford Coppola movie - “One From the Hear” with superb songs. Cystal Gayle’s cover of “Take Me Home” is a short, small gem.

Here’s “Pickin’ Up After You (Tom & Crystal) from the soundtrack - love those lyrics!!!!

I can open carry my H&K 45 into one Dennys in Chandler AZ but not into the one by Hiway 10 ... both are on Chandler Blvd. I no longer frequent the Hiway 10 Dennys.

Abiding by local laws simply means they can post signs that say the don’t allow guns on the premises in most places - they do around here in MN (note: this may not apply to all franchises here).

Sort of explained, in a nit-picky way. Yes, a franchise holder is allowed by Arizona law to forbid guns in his place of business, and that is as it should be. However, Arizona allows open or concealed carry, and I can’t agree that forbidding guns is “abiding by the laws” even if it is technically legal to do so.
