Breaking Bad discussion here Last week was episode 511
Tuco was freaky! when he was womping the crap out of that guy for pretty much no reason and Walt made a move like he was going to jump in, and Tuco’s henchman motions him to stay out of it... that was freaky
I am almost positive that Agent Gomez was shot. I am going to watch it again tonite to make sure.
If Gomie dies in the desert (or is even injured), Hank can't keep his little secret from the DEA any more.
I also wonder if Sauls two workers took enough money from Walt that something happens to them.
When walt was looking at it and said “close enough” you know that he knew they took some, and they eyeballed each other thinking that they got away with it
That firefight was a jpke! Hank and Gomie were standing out in the open. Not behind the vehicle - they were 10 feet away! Standing - out in the open - firing away! While Uncle Jack and his crew were behind their vehicles with twice as much semi-auto firepower. I don’t know what Gomie was using - it looked quite big cand capable, but Hank was firing a pistol for crying out loud. Just standing there and shooting a pistol.
Later during the firefight - Hank and Gomie moved to take cover. But to be real - it should have been too late for them.
Oh well. The privilege of the writers...
Others have guessed that the shootout will leave Walt as a hostage of the Aryan gang; I agree with that. After all, popping two DEA agents wasn't exactly what Walt and Jack shook hands on. There's a really strong likelihood that both Walt and Jesse will end up marched back to the lab and forced to cook.
Agreed, there was a huge amount of “artistic license” in the shootout. Apparently the gunplay continues into the opening scene next week, so perhaps the realism was suspended until then. We’ll see.
I still think that if they were going to kill off Gomey and Hank it would have happened this episode, and they'd at lease be wounded by now.
I missed the episode from 09/01/2013. It was Labor day weekend and I was out of town. So it was BONUS to see that episode and this week’s current episode on Sunday night.
Yeah, the firefight was a little hokie, but the real letdown for me was Walt’s reaction to Jessie’s phone call that he was burning the money. So Walt goes nuts - screaming confessions into the phone while he’s driving 90 MPH out to the desert where the money is hid. That was not typical of Walt to lose control of himself like that.
But I do like the turn of events for Hank. The whole series we see Hank as some donut munching cop stumbling and bumbling though his job. Remember when he saw Tuco’s head (I think it was Tuco) on that turtle? Hank barfed. And for the most part - we saw Hank as marginally efficient.
Now? Now I love the way Hank is using Jesse and Huell in that safe house and the different ways he is manipulating Walt in order to arrest him.
I think Jesse is going to save them though.
One important thing I did notice is that Gomie has Walt's car keys. He took them out of Walt's pockets right after the handcuffs went on. The camera zoomed in on them, so that is going to be an issue, because Hank's truck has the tires shot out.
The signs on the fence say, "City of Albuquerque." I don't know what it means, but just FYI.
For a number of years we had what was called “The Safe City Strike Force” that closed down properties that had been meth labs, unfit for habitation, etc... They would fence them off to prevent the homeless from moving back in.
I saw that too, but when Walt stepped out of the vehicle the car was beeping like it does when the key are in the ignition, and Walt shuts the door with it still beeping.
When Jesse gets into the car, there is no beeping.
I think Gilligan has deliberately given contradictory clues so you can't know what's going to happen.
I still say Jesse is going to pull a Mexico redux and drive them all out of there.
More on that. If you notice, Jesse is not in handcuffs, when he should be. He can’t drive in handcuffs. That’s why Gilligan doesn’t have him in handcuffs.
I thought Gomey took the keys.
What a show!
Can’t wait until next Sunday!
I have watched the part where Walt gets out of the car at the buried-money site multiple times. The alarm that indicates that the key is in the ignition is beeping, and it is beeping when he shuts the door. I am absolutely positive of this.
When Jesse gets into the car through the passenger side door the alarm does not go off, but I checked with my pickup and it's the same. Opening the passenger door doesn't cause the ignition key alarm to go off when a key is in the ignition. Opening the driver door does.
To me, it is unequivocal that there is a key is in the ignition.
As much as I’d like to see it happen, how exactly would this work? He’s going to back up into a hail of gunfire and drive out of it?
Maybe Hank and Gomie die in the shootout. Marie finds out, exposes Walt and Heisenberg becomes national news
It does not make sense that Walter would be so meticulous about saving the GPS coordinates of a place that he already cooked meth in years ago and drove back to at high speed. What gives?
There have been about 500 rounds fired so far from various fully- and semi-automatic firearms without a single one of them hitting anybody, so I don't see the problem.
We ain't talking reality here. It's just a TV show,
