I apologize in advance for the vanity. After perusing the various news sites this morning, I can find very little good, inspirational, or optimistic news. I'm starving for such stories. So, I offer this thread for other members of FRee Republic to post links to "good news" stories for early August.
The regular news stories (from children being strangled by pythons in their sleep to Yemenese being offed by our unmanned drones and Americans being forced to flee the country in terror) is so darned depressing that I hunger for stories of kindness and hope. Let's see how long we can make this thread.
Just post a link (copy and paste the url -- you don't have to do anything else, thanks to John Robinson's software) and a few words to say what it is about. There! That's a good news story right there. We don't have to use HTML any more, unless we are trying to post something fancy. :)
Have at it.
I meant: did you see post #7?
Good luck to you.

Things are tight but they could be so much worse. Food is available, clothes hang in the closet, water comes from the taps and we have a roof over our heads. We even have Internet.
No complaints!
That’s certainly a widely revered translation with a long track record of beneficial use. But consider modern versions such as NASB or Holman, which are not as poetically done but stress accuracy. (The KJV inaccurate? Heresy! Well, it is, and some passages are done so abysmally that even excuses have to slink into the corner. The Lord blessed it adequately to its assigned task, but if you are trying to get at every morsel of the Word, try a modern translation.)
OK...that’s one of the coolest recipe ideas/sites I’ve seen. Thanks for making such a happy post ;)
That IS good news.
That IS good news.
Yes, what a great story.
