Too bad. I went today and it was fantastic. Struggling? It made 9 million on Friday alone. I guess people went to the Heat where every other word was the F word. Oh well. I loved White House Down. It has nothing to do with Obama. Gosh you guys think every black person is Barack Obama....lol.

Actually it does have to do with Obama - that’s the line the media is quietly pushing. I saw an interview of the actress playing the president’s wife. The reporter started off with something like, “So, you’re playing Michelle Obama.” Those were the first words out of her mouth.

Well Jamie Foxx plays the second Black president?

He said earlier in the year “Black people are the most talented people in the world.”

Jamie Fox. That’s why I won’t pay money to see it.

I haven't seen it, but the reviewers disagree with you.

'... Foxx may be called “President Sawyer” in this, but he is more or less playing Obama: He has the clipped speech and the cool egghead vibe, not to mention boxes and boxes of Nicorette in his desk drawers...

Emmerich showed his political slant with thinly-disguised portraits of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney as a moron and a maniac, respectively. But Emmerich was downright subtle there compared to his approach in “White House Down,” which presents Obama as a hero — a Clark Kent just waiting to be Superman — and elements of the right as, not merely wrong, but unhinged...

But Foxx's portrayal of the president steals the show. Partly a celebration of Obama, it's also a barely-disguised message directed at the sitting president, instructing him to peel off the president suit and unleash the hero within. '

It looks like a more action/adventure “Olympus Has Fallen”, but I wouldn’t know, as I have seen neither.

My 21 year old daughter went with her husband to see it last night. She texted me half-way through it, furious.

“This movie is kinda pissing me off. Basically a bunch of republicans and disgruntled soldiers get together to take out our black president.”

Why was she mad? REPUBLICANS and the MILITARY (she’s a patriotic Army Brat) had attacked the White House to overthrow a black president.

Really? Even Rotten Tomatoes recognized this as obvious political crap. (And RT also said that the guy in the movie is much more ‘black’ and ‘hip’ than our current president.)

I comforted her by reminding her that today’s Republican’s are spineless cowards who’d fold at a moment’s notice. Everyone knows this.

Thus, the movie is complete fiction and she is free to enjoy the explosions and Channing Tatum’s hotness.

Saw it too! Was fun!

I really don’t get ongoing obsession that every movie or TV show is somehow a political statement. They just aren’t. Some are . .. most are just a Studio trying to make money. It’s just capitalism.

I want to see this-—not in a theater-—but liked “Olympus Has Fallen”

Well, perhaps it has something to do with the fact that we have had, what? 43 "white" American presidents in real life, and probably over 50 American Africans in the Hollywood version of the universe?

Sorry...but it’s about Odumbo. 2 of my buds worked on that set here in L.A. with the biggest global warming assholist since Al Gore in Roland Emmerich. They were chatting with Foxx during a break in the jet figter sequence and Emmerich chimed “make sure you have that grey hair like obama”.

And these 2 are closet conservatives. One of them is now working on Transformers 4 on another location. Channing Tatum however, was really a good guy on the set.

You’re not getting it and neither is Sony. Once a lot of us would have paid to see jamie foxx AND especially wil smith. Then we found out that jamie foxx is an effing racist, leftist scum, and wil smith is one of obama’s biggest bundlers, The hell with that.

I don't think every Black person is Obama.
For reference here's a picture of Obama playing golf.

I saw it as well and thought it was mediocre at best. Olympus Has Fallen was much better. On another note...I also saw World War Z and thought it was pretty good.
