Minnesota author Vince Flynn has died after a long battle with prostate cancer.
WCCO-TV has learned that Flynn died Wednesday morning at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Flynn has authored 15 novels centered around the character of Mitch Rapp, an undercover CIA agent. The majority of those novels have made it to the New York Times bestseller list.

I feel the same way. Those two guys really knew how to tell a story, without all the "fluff".
I like Ken Follett too.. but, he gets a little flaky sometimes. I've also enjoyed a number of Baldacci's books... even though he's gone liberal as of late.
Haven't read much Elmore. Where would you suggest I start with him?
If you like him, I probably will. :-)
Terrible news, just stunning.
RIP
Awwww.... No more Mitch Rapp books.
Rest in Peace and thank you for the books!
I did shed tears when Rush talked about this; Vince’s novels were such a great escape from the 0bama regime, a peak into halcyon settings where the good guys win - but realistically done. He was such a great guy; all the interviews on Hannity, Beck, etc. He was an accidental author, too. Unfortunately, it puts pressure on Brad Taylor, Brad Thor, and Barry Eisler...those are other favs of mine. Blessings to Vince’s wife and family...the pain is felt.
I’ve spent many long nights without sleep reading Vince’s books because I couldn’t put them down. Page turners? You’d better believe it.
This is terrible, sad news.
Vince, I look forward to meeting you in heaven.
Leonard's novels are stand-alone, even in the few which share characters, so it really doesn't matter where you start.
You'll find his writing much leaner and down-to-earth than Crichton's or Flynn's. Leonard doesn't spend much time on descriptions; his forte is characterization through dialog. If you like Hemingway you'll like Leonard.
I first started reading Leonard after watching the film 3:10 to Yuma, which was based upon one of Leonard's short story westerns. A LOT of his stories have been made into movies and TV shows.
I'd have to say that my favorite is novel of his is Out of Sight.
I remember reading some Leonard book several years ago... Bought it for a quarter at a garage sale. I liked it, but... never read anymore.
I also REALLY LOVED hearing Vince on Hugh Hewitt's show, and others... He seemed like a straight up great person, besides being a fantastic author.
