Paul Ehrlich, the doomsday biologist who coined the term The Population Bomb more than 40 years ago with a book of the same name, says the world now faces dangerous trends of global climate change and overpopulation, which threaten our extinction.
Reducing the number of people is still the answer to civilizations woes, Ehrlich and his wife Anne wrote in an article published Jan. 9 by Londons Royal Society.
Giving people the right to have as many people, as many children that they want is, I think, a bad idea, the Web site (Raw Story) quoted Ehrlich as saying.
Nobody, in my view, has the right to have 12 children or even three unless the second pregnancy is twins, Ehrlich added.

Hey Paul, you would feel right at home in China. I’ll even pay for your plane ticket.
He was wrong 40 years ago. He is a proven false prophet. Why would anyone believe him, taking into account his track record?
bobo
Nobody has the right to tell me how many children I can have.
Paul Elrich is the anti-human piece of filth that stated that “giving humanity a CHEAP CLEAN form of Energy would be the same as giving an idiot child a machine gun”...
He is downright satanic in his anti-humanism.
Well, yes, in a sense.
The very idea of "giving" people a right to procreate is rather confused. Don't people already have such a right? Then, indeed, it would be silly to "give" it to them again.
Regards,
While I don’t agree with this a$$hat Ehrlich, there is a statement that I would have a hard time disagreeing with:
“No one has a right to have any more kids than they can take care of themselves without expecting society to bear the entire cost.”
As far as pure numbers go, if you can afford to financially take care of 20 kids - I think large families are great!
It’s only the people that plop out a kid and then say, “OK society, it’s your problem now - pay me” that I have heartburn with.
Nazis like this have stolen God’s air for far too long.
Well then....somebody gots to get to that Welfare Queen holed up in that Florida Motel with her 12 chilrun ‘somebody gots to pay fo’ and tell her to get herself down onto PP and get her tubes tied.
If that couple can afford to provide for and love those kids good for them.Taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for it.
You make some good points. But, political correctness will prevent us from having any honest discussions about the baby mama culture of the underclass. They are having many more children than responsible people of the middle class. So as a result, you never hear any talk of how many kids are born out of wedlock to the baby mamas, or how society should deal will the problems which spring from that.
You have the right to have as many children as you can support and take care of. Don’t expect other people to support your children.
Hey Ehrlich - you’re too late, dorkwad! I have six and I reserve my right to engender more!
I think Paul and his wife, along with David Attenborough, should kill themselves for the sake of the Earth.
In the fall of 1969, Paul Ehrlich came to the slopes of Fiji Hill and gave an address in which he called on the middle class to birth-control itself out of existence. He also urged every male in the audience to get a vasectomy, but I don’t think many of them did, because just about all of the ones that I know eventually had children.
Having so publicly failed in the prediction of a lifetime, can’t this skunk slink off to a den and commit suicide already?
Live out your obligations and kill yourself, you freakin’ bas*ard.
He has had 40 years to remove his body and his family’s bodies to prove the veracity of his observations and so why are we still hearing this Chicken Little cackling about?
If he is so anti life, then please Ehrlich, feel free to take your own and leave us alone. Open up a spot for someone else.
Notice how it is only those who have survived government sanctioned abortion mills who can safely call for others to not be born. The aborted have no voice.
