My Daughters cat just died. Expired from Natural causes as near as I can deturmine, I went to pet him and he was starting to stiffen up.
He was a good cat, black as Satan with a propencity to open closed doors. She is heart broken.
I can understand your daughters sorrow; for dead cats are not much fun. They don’t play, they don’t run. Get another one.
Yes, and for us, it’s the only way to remember the ones who have passed without crying...
Getting another allows us to think of those that went before, and smile at the memories of the time we had with them, no matter how brief.
Little Bill, may God bless you and your daughter, with a new purring heart to love.

They all go to “The Rainbow Bridge”...

... and wait for us.
Can’t you come up with a smaller picture?????????
Indeed. We are considering getting another dog partly because the one we have is getting older and we couldn’t bear losing her then not having ANY dog in the house which would just cause me to lament the loss of her and feel the void even more.. Dogs and cats enrich our lives immeasurably, and they fill the void when our children no longer live at home too..
We trained all the cats to scratch on their posts and places and to leave the funiture alone. Watch them for a few day and squirt them with a water bottle (carry it with you) when they claw anything. Yell, too. Take them to the scratch posts and put them around the place.
They also have a spray for funiture that takes the cat fun out of messing with the funiture.
Best not to declaw. : )
Poor kitty.
“... it didn’t just die. I had the vet kill it”.
You are terrible, AppyPappy! Okay.. I laughed so I am terrible too.
Better than drinking anti-freeze.
That would be painful.
Here’s another version of Rainbow Bridge:

I’ve had a lot of older, rescued pets and know the loss well, so I keep Rainbow Bridge in my favorites and read it often.
“Best cat we had was from the pound. It was the one crawling up the side of the cage trying to escape. We granted his wishes.”
One of our kitties came from a shelter. She wasn’t trying to climb out of her cage, but as soon as the shelter worker handed her to my wife, the cat immediately gave her a head bonk. Needless to say, that sort of thing is very hard to refuse!
That is a lock, I have always had cats, it is just the wailing that gets on my nerves. I want a Manx.
This is bittersweet - but appropriate.
Whenever one of my rescue cats dies, I play this in their honor:

Very sad for your daughter. I’ve had many cats in my life and it’s always heartbreaking when one dies. I have three now, all rescue cats, and can’t imagine life without my furry family members. They keep me from being lonely.
I’m so sorry. They’re such little dears, you love ‘em and you’re sad to lose them.
So sorry to hear about the cat. She will feel better when she gets another one. I lost the last of my 4 cats on Jan. 23rd this year. Inki was 16 years old, all black & could shake if I asked him. Cats are smarter than they make a person think they are & its fun to train them to do tricks (I use canned cat food as the motivation).
Sorry to hear that. Our furry friends add so much enjoyment to life. Losing them is hard.
Powerful stuff. Thanks. Have you hugged your dog or cat today? I remember when I was younger and the times I ignored my dog.. I spent a lot of time with him in his later years though, trying to make up for my past neglect. It’s pretty amazing how we seem to bond with our dogs and cats better than we do with other people, especially as we get older and we realize most people are just no damn good. LOL
Our dogs always did that. I think they thought we had an escape exit in there somewhere and were worried we’d disappear sometime. They’d bump the door open enough to peek in. Sometimes both of them (one was taller than the other and they were almost “stackable.” Actually, I really miss seeing their sweet faces peering around the door...
