A 4,500-year-old tomb of an Egyptian princess has been discovered near Cairo, Egypt -- A princess's tomb dating from the fifth dynasty (around 2500 BC) has been discovered in the Abu Sir region near Cairo. Mohamed Ibrahim, Egypt's antiquities minister, announced the discovery on Friday. "We have discovered the antechamber to Princess Shert Nebti's tomb which contains four limestone pillars," he said. He described the pillars as having "hieroglyphic inscriptions giving the princess's name and her titles, which include 'the daughter of the king Men Salbo and his lover venerated before God the all-powerful'." The Czech Institute of Egyptology's mission, funded by the Charles University of Prague and directed by Miroslav Bartas, was accredited with making the discovery. "The discovery of this tomb marks the beginning of a new era in the history of the sepulchres at Abu Sir and Saqqara," Ibrahim said. |

'the daughter of the king Men Salbo and his lover venerated before God the all-powerful'Is there an inconsistency here or am I just giddy from voting?

Sometimes I fell that these places should be left hidden until after the Jihadist threat is defeated.

They had better excavate and document it quickly before the Muzzies decide to destroy it.

It could be that was the style (compare these with Lady Sennui and her consort), or they may have just been jowl-y, i.e., very well fed. The architect of the Great Pyramid (and he wasn’t an alien, btw) can be seen in a lifesize statue, and he had man-boobs.

"Mohamed Ibrahim, Egypt's antiquities minister"The new Egyptian antiquities guy? Maybe his hand is not out so far as the other egotist?
Perhaps we will be seeing some good stuff more often now. Good for Egypt, TV and tourists.

None of them know much, they’re bureaucrats who owe their jobs to whomever they have to pay off with whatever they can, uh, obtain.

Perhaps what we have here is a failure to translate correctly. Maybe what was meant was the king and his beloved, their daughter.

In dynastic Egypt, they didn’t have any problem mating like a box of hamsters.
