Thank you for opening the doors to honor our Vets, today, Meg. That is a stunning graphic, with the sun setting, the ship and hellicopter. Just WOW!
Sleep well, and may your dreams be sweet and tender, as you are surrounded by angels.

At Risk For The Savior
November 12, 2012
During basic training, Desmond Doss irritated his drill instructor and fellow soldiers. A pacifist by conviction, he refused to carry a weapon into battle, and this made his peers doubt his courage. Trained as a medic, the young Christian had no qualms about facing combat. But his goal was to save lives.
Doubts about Doss would change, however, when his military unit faced combat. During the World War II Battle of Okinawa, he ducked under machine gun fire to pull the wounded to safety. He prayed, Lord, give me the strength to save just one more wounded soldier. Eventually he lowered more than 70 injured men down a hill for further medical attention. For his efforts, Desmond Doss was awarded the Medal of Honorthe highest honor his country could bestow.
Scripture tells of another Christian who took great personal risks to help others. Of Epaphroditus, Paul wrote, Hold such men in esteem; because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life (Phil. 2:29-30).
Around the world today, many believers risk their lives for the cause of Christ. Lets pray that our God will protect them as they serve Him under threatening circumstances.
O Lord, listen to our cry for mercy; in Your faithfulness
come to the relief of those who are in danger because of
their faith. For Your names sake, preserve their lives;
in Your righteousness, bring them out of trouble.
Courage is not having strength to go onit is going on when you dont have the strength.

Veterans Day
Our country called, they answered,
They risked their lives, their all.
They fought on land, sea, and air,
They saw their buddies fall.
Yet on they fought and they prevailed,
We owe our gratitude.
So give thumbs up, to them, the Vets,
God grant them solitude.
We can't repay all that they gave,
So show them that you care.
They fought for us, to all be free,
Be thankful they were there.

On this Veterans Day, I want to especially remember my hubby (Air Force Vet), my son (Active Duty Air Force), my father (Army--WWII), my uncle (Army Air Corps--WWII) and all my FRiends who honorably serve[d] in all branches of the military. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bearing the burden of protecting and defending this beautiful country, this America; and all the sacrifices you made in order to perform your duty with love and pride! *Salute* |

Happy Veteran's Day everyone.
I'm sorry that I missed the weekend.
Busy with guitar lessons and shopping on Saturday.
After church yesterday, one of my greatnieces had a birthday party and Marissa wanted to stay until the end.
Thank you for all of the wonderful military tributes. They were all special.
Meg's Sunday thread was wonderful .... as it always is. Thank you, Meg.
Marissa is home today and tomorrow.
I bought her a new pair of pajamas since next Friday is Pajama Day at school.
Last night she asked if I would get her a new pair of slippers to wear to school with the pajamas.
Wonder why she didn't ask when we got the pj's? LOL
Anyway, we will be going to Fresno again later.
I went to Amazon this morning and did some Christmas shopping.
Their store was a lot less crowded than Walmart or Target would have been. ;>}
Wishing everyone a happy Military Monday and a Happy Veteran's Monday.
