***Sad But True: O'Reilly Says Oswald Shot JFK***
Stardate: 1210.5
Posted on 10/05/2012 7:36:02 PM PDT by The Wizard
While both my Aunt and I watch Bill O'Reilly every weeknight, I was very disappointed to hear him say that his new book says that Oswald shot JFK......
While I will continue to watch the show because there are things I like, my confidence and trust in the things he says has been greatly diminished.
You cannot shoot a man in the front from the back.
There is no need to go into everything we have written about here many times before, I just thought that rather than have some of you waste your money on the book, I'd share one of the erroneous conclusions contained within, and save you the time and money, it's just more cover up and misinformation, and I am truly sad to say so......

Germany bombed Pearl Harbor, because they were mad at a Disney cartoon making fun of Der Fuehrer. Don’t you know anything?

Years ago I saw a program on TV that suggested there was a gunman in a a sewer drain at the base of the grassy knoll. He shot Kennedy and retreated back through the sewer drains. Someone thought they saw a poof of smoke coming from the drain.
Was this ever a credible explanation?

The ratings for rifle are expert, sharpshooter and then marksman. Marksman is the lowest rated.Oswald qualified in 1956 as a sharpshooter (48/50 and 49/50). He qualified in 1959 as a marksman.

I agree, and i have no doubt that it was a conspiracy in which Ruby was involved.
Considering the murder/suicide rate of those surrounding the events around the assassination, it's hard for me to believe the lone nutjob theory.
Bill Hunter, reporter who interviewed George Senator and Jim Martin in Jack Ruby's apartment shot point blank by a police detective in the Long Beach police station.
Jim Koethe, (the other reporter at that meeting) had his throat crushed by someone while exiting his own shower.
Lawyer Tom Howard's heart attack post-meeting Jack Ruby.
Dorothy Kilgallen (the only reporter to interview Ruby after he killed Oswald) overdosing on alcohol and barbiturates three to five hours after appearing on a national television game show.
Hank Killam, who couldn't keep a job because federal agents kept harassing him (and his wife worked with Ruby) had his jugular vein cut by glass from a broken window while he was walking along a sidewalk.
Robert Perrin, gunrunner for Ruby, died of a fatal arsenic dose,
Then you've got the wrong-handed suicides of Joe Cooper, William Pitzer, Lou Staples, and Gary Underhill...
Interesting note about Pitzer, Lt Col Dan Marvin (Army, retired) had said that he had been asked by a CIA operative to kill Pitzer, who had been present at JFK's autopsy.

“[Roy] Oswalt did it. Just look at his eyes. Guilty.”
When the target is 60 feet away and about 1.5 x 3 ft, he only hits it 70% of the time. And you’re telling me 1 shot at 100 yards or so? Impossible.

I know a number of people that could do that with a pistol, mostly .357 magnums. They empty their revolvers into a 2 1/2” circle at 100 yards. 60 yards would be quite easy.
To: buffaloguy
I have always felt that Oswald was trying to shoot him in the dead center and that he missed his point of aim. If his scope, like most scopes, was set for 100 yards he would have aimed below the point of impact and over compensated for the difference between 100 yards and 60 yards.
So I think he didn’t impact where he wanted to.

It just amazes me how many people continue to listen to BOR. He is nothing more than a conceited buffoon. and a talented author....constantly in the NYT best seller list.....and #1 in the ratings....not bad for a buffoon and P.S. he's wealthy

"Oswald shot NO ONE"
Except for JD Tippett. For no reason? Please.
If you go to the Grassy Knoll, there is NO WAY that a sniper would be behind that fence. They would have been caught instantly. No matter how many SS "badges" were flashed.
JFK's head went backwards, because the car was moving forward, and his brain was no longer "capable" of holding his body upright. He slumped.
For a "patsy" Oswald sure acted like a psychotic assassin well BEFORE 11/22/63. Don't forget he also tried to kill that right wing former General earlier that year.

I too have read many books on the Kennedy assassination (although not nearly as many as you!).
My favorite is "Best Evidence" by David S. Lifton.

I was not familiar with most of those happenings, i did not even have a radio at that time, but that is too much to be called coincidence.

Or attend an Appleseed and learn to do it in a weekend. Thanks, all, for the info.

I stole this joke from something I read. And there is apparently and Disney cartoon that makes fun of Adolf. Here's the wikipedia page for
Der Fuehrer's Face.

Have you read Steven King’s “11-22-63”? Not really an analysis — it’s historical fiction — but gives a great insight and historical context to the events leading up to the assassination. I think you would find it entertaining.
