Dear Askel5,
For many years, I thought you were a bit of a nut. A very INTELLIGENT nut, but a nut nonetheless. Your constant harping about Gramscian politics was, to my mind, weird a little paranoid.
It turns out you were one hundred percent right. The move to destroy America has been very below-the-surface, highly organized, and extremely effective ... and the model has been, indeed, Antonio Gramsci's.
From the work Notes on Saul Alinsky and Neo-Marxism:
Remember that the primary influence for Obama's strategy comes from Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." With that in mind..."Alinsky's tactics were based, not on Stalin's revolutionary violence, but on the Neo-Marxist strategies of Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Communist. Relying on gradualism, infiltration and the dialectic process rather than a bloody revolution, Gramsci's transformational Marxism was so subtle that few even noticed the deliberate changes.
Like Alinsky, Mikhail Gorbachev followed Gramsci, not Lenin. In fact, Gramsci aroused Stalins's wrath by suggesting that Lenin's revolutionary plan wouldn't work in the West. Instead the primary assault would be on Biblical absolutes and Christian values, which must be crushed as a social force before the new face of Communism could rise and flourish. Malachi Martin gave us a progress report:
"By 1985, the influence of traditional Christian philosophy in the West was weak and negligible.... Gramsci's master strategy was now feasible. Humanly speaking, it was no longer too tall an order to strip large majorities of men and women in the West of those last vestiges that remained to them of Christianity's transcendent God."
This excerpt is the bread-and-meat section that tells me that you were prescient and well-versed in the tactics of our enemy. If there is any excuse on my part, I have only one: That which Matt Bracken refers to as the 'normality bias'. I am biased, as are most, to believe things will 'stay normal' and to discount sweeping conspiracies.
But I have awoken. Is it too late, I do not know. Can one man make a difference, I am unsure. Will it get much worse in America, absolutely.
So, this is an open letter to you to acknowledge my being incorrect, you being correct, and to ask you what a nation does to unwind this horrifying and seemingly inexorable push to Marxist/Fascist control.
Yours,
Laz
In the time allotted to him, ETL, the author (Skousen) of your Post #5 listing certainly did his part toward that restoration, publishing many books, study courses and seminars, etc., designed to enlighten the minds of current generations to their nation's founding ideas. In doing so, he used the Founders' own words, not the mistranslations of them which had become common in revisionist histories.
May the hand of Divine Providence, so obvious to those who gathered here from 1620 to 1787, so enlighten the minds of current generations about their liberty, and the determined and concerted efforts to "transform" America from a place of liberty back to the Old World ideas from which it arose, that there may be a "new burst of freedom" in this land, casting off the bonds which threaten to enslave future generations.
I'm not trying to offend. I'm actually trying to suggest ways to be more effective.
Let's say I wrote some really great stuff, but it was in this really hard-to-read, small font. Wouldn't you reach out to me to increase the effectiveness of my message?
Following your spiritual journey here is remarkable.
You have our attention.
No more remarkable than everyone else's bro. But if I have your attention, good; let me utilize it to organize a group of spritual warriors.
” I agree with you about the [the need of the GOP to embrace God and Christianity more]. However, here’s the current lay of the land: We who embrace God are now the minority and those who embrace pleasure and wanton sex and self-seeking and glorification of the self, are the majority.
So, should Republicans embrace a Godly message, they’d be ‘laughed out of church’. This cannot be a top down effort. This has to be bottom-up.
That means ALL the responsibility is OURS.”
Excellent reasoning, Laz.

Obviously, after the 60s failures (Weather Underground, etc), a violent revolution was no longer a serious possibility --that the commie left would try to achieve the same through gradual, peaceful means (infiltration of schools, churches, media, entertainment, on and on).
Certainly, there are Biblical examples of nations that were warned of their imminent destruction by God through the prophets, and of nations that repented and avoided that destruction. Ninevah being warned by Jonah is an example. He didn't even tell them to repent, but only told them of God's coming wrath. They took it upon themselves to repent and seek God's forgiveness which He granted.
The United States is a different story. The Bible prophecies are already written and will happen. If the U.S., currently the most powerful and imposing nation on Earth, is not in those prophecies, then our fate is sealed. Repentance now will save individuals, but not our nation.
As Christians and patriots we have to ask ourselves if we really want America to continue in her current form? Our direction as a nation seems to be a headlong flight from righteousness into utter corruption, the kind of corruption (child murder, homosexuality, lawlessness, etc.) for which God destroyed many ancient nations.
Does anyone honestly see a turnaround on the horizon considering the moral decline of our nation? Or are we heading into the logical outcome of a depraved hatred of God that would explain America's absence from Bible prophecy?
I'm not suggesting that we surrender, but regardless of America's future, we need to remember:
1. who will ultimately win (God Almighty)
2. whose side we should be on (His)
3. that we need to be about our Father's business (spreading His Gospel, living in righteousness, helping the helpless)
4. that our best fighting is always done from our knees.
I had a Poly Sci professor, a dedicated communist, who believed Gramsci was the architect of Western Socialism. He traced the thinking of the intellectuals at the Frankfurt School and later at American universities back to Gramsci. The socialists planned and executed their revolution right under our noses, taking over Western institutions without firing a shot.
Great post Laz.
I remember her from my early days here in ‘99.
Regarding the state of our nation, I keep the following quote in mind:
“God doesn’t require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.” —Mother Theresa
The three quotes; Carroll, Henry and Adams...profound. I know that in some ways our Founding Fathers were “just men” with human frailties, but they were also giants. Giants in a way the modern liberal mind simply cannot grasp.
Strange to remember that “liberal” once meant “people who advocate liberty.” A one-word definition of our Founding Fathers that has been so corrupted that it no longer has application in the way it was intended.
Thanks.
I wonder why that is amusing? I always found it repulsive and disgusting.
So glad to hear your thinking about this Laz. I look forward to your posts because of the off the wall, out of the box, bizarre humor, but I cringe a little at the suggestiveness of some of it.
What the heck is so hard to read about my posts? I even highlight in bold the more important parts. As I said earlier, we have grown seriously lazy intellectually. This is the reason why Glenn Beck adds in the dramatics--to keep audience members with short attention spans interested and/or entertained long enough to learn something.
Right. islam is a tool.
Their use of islam, energy resources, turmoil, war, etc., to bankrupt this country.
We are no longer locally owned and operated.
Speaking of old timers with their own particular insights and great observations... hat-tip to you.
Agreed..
Now, the name and exact phrase escapes me at the moment, so please take this one in spirit..
“This constitution is for a moral and just people, It will work for no other”..
Conservatives and Liberals take this phrase to mean that the fed must regulate morality, that it must protect the people from themselves.
The truth is quite the opposite.
True spiritual morality cannot be changed in a person.
Politically motivated morality is subjective. It is subjective to whoever holds power at that particular time. The framers recognized this, and that is why morality is not in the constitution. Civil rights are.
Once this premise is accepted, then and only then can change begin.
Where does it begin? The easier question to ask is where does it NOT begin.
It does NOT begin in the halls of congress, or at the presidents desk.
It DOES begin in your own heart first, then in your own home. It then progresses to your extended family, then to your friend and aquantances.
When, not if but when, you run into the person or peoples that place all their trust in politics, that is when you ask them to apply the constitution test.
You do not need to argue, or debate, or go point for point with them. Just ask them to apply the constitution test.
This alone will plant the first seeds of doubt.
D-o.....if I may...
I, for one, do recognize that the abyss is nigh and the point of no return has been reached...
But the “I’d hit it” is not taken seriously, is a sophomoric joke and provides some much needed levity on FR for some of us...
“Obviously, after the 60s failures (Weather Underground, etc), a violent revolution was no longer a serious possibility —that the commie left would try to achieve the same through gradual, peaceful means (infiltration of schools, churches, media, entertainment, on and on).”
This is the way they do it. I learned this in college and I’m not surprised as to what’s going on.
I will say one thing that seems to get over looked and that is Individualism. We are a nation of individuals and in the Left’s political philosophy the individual is non-existent.
