Our Daily Bread is a wonderful series of devotionals. I also enjoy them very much. I have learned to not just read them quickly, but to consider the wisdom they contain. for a long time I thought Mayor originated them. I appreciate the Mayor’s dedication and faithfulness in posting them. They do turn our thoughts to the truth of God, and that is a very good thing. Thank you, for your kind remarks.

God gave Adam very clear instructions. There was ONE tree they were not to eat from. All else in the beautiful Garden of Eden was for their pleasure. Daniel was true to God, Joseph was true to God, Joshua was true to God too, Caleb “wholly followed the LORD my God”, and he was given land along with the tribes of Israel.
And Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-negro, they refused to bow before King Nebchadnezzar ... and they came forth out of the fiery furnace, not a hair singed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. (Daniel 3).
Abraham believed God. This is what we are asked to do. Believe God and follow his instructions/commandments. Jesus is the only one to be perfect in fulfilling all the commandments, and not breaking any. We take the Word of God lightly and look what is happening to our world. God help us understand and receive of thee Wisdom, in Jesus name amen.

Hopes And Dreams
August 15, 2012
In 1960, everyone in the high school I attended participated in Project TALENT. For several days, we took tests that surveyed our aptitudes in academic subjects. In addition, we were asked to express our plans, hopes, and dreams for the future. What we didnt know was that we were among 400,000 participants from 1,300 schools in the largest study of high school students ever conducted in the US. None of us involved in the study could have imagined how our lives would turn out.
The same was true for Saul of Tarsus. As a young man, his goal was to destroy the followers of Jesus (Acts 7:588:3; Gal. 1:13). But after his conversion, he became the apostle Paul, whose mission was to multiply them. As he journeyed to Jerusalem, facing prison and hardship, Paul said, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given methe task of testifying to the gospel of Gods grace (Acts 20:24 niv).
When our goal is to honor the Lord, He guides and guards us each step of the way. Whatever our hopes and dreams may be, when we place them in Gods hands we know that everything, including setback or success, is under His control.
When we give our hopes and dreams to God
And then leave them in His hand,
We can trust His love and care for us
To fulfill what He has planned. Sper
Live the Christian life in the same way you began it by trusting Christ.

Do you know Charles Stanley ... In Touch Ministry? I watch him every Sunday morning as I prepare for Church myself.
‘In Touch Ministries’ is on the inter-net too, He can be watched there anytime. He is an excellent teacher/preacher. First Baptist Church, Atlanta,Georgia

The Daily Bread Devotional today, reads as if he wrote it. Check him out. I have been watching Dr Stanley since the 1980's. Here it comes on at 8:o'clock am. You will give yourself a gift. The inter net is likely best to start as you can choose 'any time' that is best for you to watch.
