There are lots of experts in this forum of one kind or another. Here we have James Holmes. Why wasn't he taken down? Would you have done it?
and they do this in Israel...I am sure they are all reviewing this now for America.
Of course, we have nothing to worry about because our Dear Leader has apologized to the Muzzies, is celebrating ramadan and of course......
don’t forget...
The thought that gives me such peace of mind at night...
Janet Napolitano is head of Homeland security. whew! we can all rest easy now.( Yeah???!!)
Witness: Someone let gunman inside Colorado movie theater
http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/252995/396/Witness-Someone-let-gunman-inside-Colorado-movie-theater-
Ok, so WHO is this person...to whom does this person who made it possible for him to enter the theater owe alligence?
The question of how the door was opened from the outside is one that I have had since I first heard about this, and that he entered from a closed emergency exit door.
Mike Adams’ ‘logic’ here is not beyond reason...the more we hear, and the more we know about the Batman Killer and the more we know and understand about this Administration’s assault on the 2nd Amendment, the more it seems a reasonable possibility...
...unless you trust Obama, Holder and their henchmen explicitly...
Mike’s estimate of $20,000 is not far off for all the stuff he had to pull this off. I made a rough estimate and from what is reported somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000 is in the ball park. His ammo stash alone would be between $6,000 and $7,500. His weaponry another $2,000. He had SWAT gear not readily available to the general public. The cost of his ‘boobie traps’ in his apartment...several thousand dollars.
He was a ‘destitute’ perpetual college student with no income and getting ‘unemployment’. Where did he get the money to pay for all this stuff? Where did he locate the sourcing for all this stuff in 4 or 5 weeks?
Glad things are straightened out for i hate having anyone mad at me...especially a fellow Freeper : )
The answer is in the question.
I wondered the same thing, until I heard the details of the event, and how quickly, relatively, the event was over.
Compounding that the demographics of the audience, overwhelmingly kids, emotionally if not chronologically, prevented any real reaction.
The movie playing is of the LOUD variety. The audience was "into" weird surprises, including costumes. So when a dark-suited figure appears, they assume more of the same. There was no time to react.
If memory serves me right, the reported event lasted less than a minute.
No problem...we freeprs get very intense sometimes, not that I ever would react like that (ha.right.)
And, if you want to tout the theory that the FBI set the whole thing up to facilitate the UN deal go right ahead...the beauty of anonymous internet posting is that you can't hear everybody else laughing at you.
do you know that one of the dead did not die in thee process of attempting to accost the shooter?
There was a statement made on an FR thread a few days ago that might answer that observation.
"One in seven Americans suffers from some form of mental disability."
Although my gut feeling is not as pessimistic, there's no reason to believe that FR is immune to the cold numbers.
As far as I’m concerned, this discussion isn’t just about the Batman shooting, it’s also about the (potential) next movie theater shooting, where some psychotic thug copies the preparations of this psychotic thug. I’ve worn body armor and a gas mask, and I think we’re giving this guy a whole lot more credit for being invulnerable than he deserves. I don’t blame most of those who ran or hid, considering that they were blind, disoriented, and had not thought the situation through, but we now have the chance to ask what could have been done and to consider the shooter’s vulnerabilities.
The field of view from a gas mask sucks, particularly in the dark and through gas. Breathing tear gas is no picnic either, but it neither blinded nor disabled most of the patrons - there were over 200 witnesses to the shooting who survived, including many who were very close to the shooter and went unnoticed. It’s possible that several had opportunities to intervene, if they had known what to do. Also, I have seen no indication of military or even sports experience for the shooter. This was not a Navy SEAL with his team, it was a lone nutcase who had thought through only a narrow range of possibilities.
In the dark and wearing a mask, I don’t believe he would have much peripheral vision, and if he was looking at one aisle, people near the other side would have had some opportunity to rush him. Anyone with football or martial arts experience who hit him would have brought him down, and the shooter’s armor would not have been much help, except as dead weight to keep him down once several people grappled him. Anyone in a nearby row with a firearm and adequate range time could have hit him, and he would not have known where the shot came from. Whether the shot penetrated or just bruised him, it would have disrupted the shooting. Other good options? I’m not sure, but we should give it some thought. “Give up, run, hide, or pray” is probably not the entirety of good ideas available on FR.
I am not touting that the ‘FBI’ set all this up. You said I said that. I posted a link to Mike Adams posting. Laugh all you want...and I suppose Building 7 collapsed just because the twin towers came down?
And he used a credit card? $15,000 is quite a bill to run up - unemployed and collecting unemployment...and it seems cost was no object, but getting the stuff quickly was...
I have not heard or read anything that suggested that. If anything, the shooter planned his position carefully.
Mass confusion, movie playing the entire time, dark theater, overwhelming noise and tear gas.
Well yes...but in a theater, there is masses of people in a small area. I am sure someone could have jumped him from behind..it seems. Unless he kept all people in front of him, but that could not have been it seems from the reports.
Tear Gas
This guy was studying neuroscience. He may have used those skills to successfully attack the people in the theater. They all were frozen as he set off two tear gas canisters. He knew they would assume he was part of the premier. This guy had the smarts to just open the back door and throw a bomb into the theater. He apparently walked up aisles only shooting those who tried to flee. Even knew how to separate those he wanted to kill from the herd.
That has been reported by the police and others, at least a half-dozen times in the last 24 hours.
I was kind of waiting for someone to bring up the muzzle flashes.
In a darkened theater the flashes would appear to be 3- 4 feet long. Would be easy to see if you were lucky enough to not have tear gas in your eyes.
I’m trying to figure out why he brought in tear gas or the gas mask.
Maybe he saw one too many movies thinking he would camouflage himself as a SWAT or police officer and leave the scene unchallenged in the mayhem.
It is more of a discussion to try to understand what happened and how people would react..and how situations of attack are very different.
Pretty clear to me is some posters are blaming victims. Others are not.
Pretty clear to me people were just out to watch a late night movie and got massacred. Aurora isn't Beersheba, not just yet.
No way any of us, except for the most paranoid among us, could have been prepared for this event . . . not even Seals nor Rangers nor anybody. Unless you pack heavy artillery everytime you buy dinner or a movie ticket.
People like your grandson make the world a better place for the rest of us. My thanks to him.
