I am torn over this.
Freerepublic.com has the smartest people in the world.
If you were to make the best BLT in the world tonight, what would you use?
I am quite serious about this.
Both, MW on the tomato side, mayo on the bacon side.
New England is Cain's Corner.
It is simply the best.
Oh, man. Hot dogs have got to be deluxe. Mustard, catsup, relish, onion, Spanish sauce, and if you must cheese. I’m not a cheese person, but a hot dog deluxe must have cheese here in the Midwest.
Cain’s mayonnaise. Miracle Whip is a sweetish, chemical soup that should grace a dogs lunch.
Wow! Of all the topics discussed on FR this gets 243 replies. Man, we really need some good news and a break!
BTW... Hellman’s Mayo on white bread with tons of bacon. Nothin’ else needed.
Neither. They’re both awful.
Bacon. Lettuce. Sliced Tomato. Sliced White Bread. Hellman’s Original Mayonnaise.
Miracle Whip is fine if you like vinegar in your mayonaise. I don’t.
Ha! That’s the way they get us to click on the thread. After all, Revolting Cat, you clicked on this thread.
Hellman’s is the ONLY way to go.
But I will say this, Heinz yellow mustard is really good on a sandwich. But you CANNOT find it in the NYC metro area (I discovered it in DC, where it is everywhere). The only way to buy it here is part of the 3-pack barbecue packages.
I wonder why you can’t get it here.
For a brown mustard Gulden’s is by far the best.
Let’s say this about America - we have great condiments!
Grey Poupon?
Nope, best mustard is BA-TAMPTE whole grain yellow deli mustard. If you can’t find it in the regular isle with all the others, check the Kosher section.
“No U-Bet, no Egg Cream.”
Agreed! I think it is mostly the consistency - U-bet is not so thick as other chocolate syrups.
MMMMMM egg cream!
“best mustard is BA-TAMPTE whole grain yellow deli mustard.”
I almost bought that the other day, now on your recommendation I’ll try it. It looked like it would be excellent for cheese and crackers, with a little raw onion, that’s what we used to get at McSorley’s bar in NYC. I think it was the only food you could get there, but I might be wrong about that.
Could be what you got in NYC. BA-TAMPTE is located there in Brooklyn. But that’s as much as I know. Never been to NYC except for JFK and LaGuardia. But the mustard is great. It’s not hot per sé, but it makes my forehead perspire. Must be the mustard seed.
You put tuna fish in a BLT????
Sounds like hubby will like it!
It depends... American or Canadian bacon?
LOL! That's the way I like it, too!
