Prayer Request for freepers MamaBear and JKPhoto’s son, Dave.

During a physical for an upcoming job in Angola, a mass was discovered in one of his kidneys.
His kidney and the tumor (which the urologist believes has an 80% chance of being malignant) will be removed sometime next week.

This has hit Dave and his family hard, as he has enjoyed perfect health for all of his 43 years.

Dave, registered as CA Libertarian, has been a long time FReeper but seldom posts.

Prayers are appreciated. In addition to Dave, MamaBear and JKPhoto, please remember his wife and three children in your prayers.

This is an update on my son and his recent surgery. He had a complete laparoscopic nephrectomy last Thursday which involved removal of one kidney and the mass within. The surgery went textbook perfect and he was able to be released from the hospital on Saturday. He is recovering comfortably at home.

The best news is, the pathology report came in yesterday and it couldn't be better news. Just as the doctor thought; the mass was indeed a stage one renal cell carcinoma, but it had not metastasized and, we are told, this particular type of cancer is nonrecurring. So, our son is cancer free and no chemo or follow-up treatment is necessary. I truly believe the prayers of family, friends and freepers made all the difference.

I cannot thank everyone enough for your encouraging, supportive posts and prayers. Most of you do not know us or our son. But I have found FReepers to be a wonderfully supportive online family and I appreciate each of you more than I can say.

So, from the bottom of this grateful mom's heart........

Lori, I am never surprised, but always joyed at answer to prayer! THANK YOU LORD, for Dave’s successful surgery! We know it was Your will that the surgery would be successful, and the cancer would not return! For this, we thank you, Heavenly Father, in the Holy Name of Your Son, Jesus! Amen, and AMEN!
