A highly elliptical orbit sounds oddly familiar. Sort of Sitchinesque.

Interesting timing to publish such a thing. Five billion miles wouldn't put it anywhere near Earth, but it would disrupt the Kuiper Belt pretty thoroughly.

You know, a lot of this recent crap about Pluto seems to me more geared towards claiming older schoolbook science text is outdated so they can rewrite it and replace it with liberal crap.
