I thought you were referring to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare. They will all sink under the debt we’re accumulating as a nation.

British ITV is running a 4 part fictionalized series on the Titanic.

As of Episode 2, they were implying incompetence/cheap materials on the part of the builders and even worse incompetence on the part of the Captain.

They also emphasize the social class differences in crew and levels of passengers. It is sort of a Downton Abbey on a big boat.

I’ve got (somewhere) a copy of the 1943 GERMAN version which is really good except for those “greedy” English vs the few sweet German passengers and German engineer who warned the ship masters of dangers ahead.

Needless to say, the ship sinks.

Thanks much for the information and here's the courtesy ping to all those on the Titanic ping list. There will doubtless be more special programs as we get closer to the 100th Anniversary, now just several days away.

Please FReepmail me if you wish to join the list.

That pointer is appreciated and there's a rich assortment of articles and videos there. Here a link to the National Geographic Titanic search results page. Among the numerous resources there is Building Titanic: An Interactive Timeline.

Just saw James Cameron’s show on the Titanic. Very good except for the last 3 minutes when he spouts off with his liberal claptrap on the world condition of today.
