My son-in-law, S/Sgt Brian Smith, 2nd Munition Squadron, Barksdale AFB, and my granddaughter, Ava Sermon was involved in an accident in Camden County, TN. They were on their way to visit his folks near Hendersonville. My daughter, Jessica, and grandson, Liam were to join him there today.
Thursday afternoon, after hydroplaning during a downpour, Brians' car was struck by a semi...we lost Brian. Little Ava is at Vanderbilt University Childrens Hospital.
Please pray for our families, and Baby Ava. Things are very hectic, so I must say thanks in advance. I'll update when possible.
Prayers up for the family and for Ava’s swift and complete recovery. (((HUGS)))
Avas’ recovery is remarkable! The pro’s at Sutton’s Childrens’ Hospital are amazed with her recovered abilities...we worked her little fanny off, in Nashville. ( Mrs. SgtBob is an O. T., and PRAYER WORKS!)
She does not require intensive therapy. No physical therapy at all. Her motor skills are advanced, but cognative skills...hell, when I was 22 months old, and asked to “pick out the butterfly”, I’d point to the B-52.
Your thoughts and prayers lift us...please keep praying hard on Brians’ folks.
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue...
SgtBob, it’s wonderful news about Ava! Maybe she has a newly minted special angel looking over her. We’re continuing to pray for the entire family, for you, Jessica, Liam, Brian, Sr., Kinney, and all others touched by this tragedy.
Jessie, Liam, and Ava came to visit Friday. With the caveat, I’m not an expert, I would not know outside of something obvious what to look for; what I saw was a regular, rough and tumble, two year old. The only limitation being that danged C collar. She was bullying, and was bullied by Liam and two dogs twice her size. My heart was happy!
I thank everyone for their continued thoughts, and prayers.
Brians’ Squadron, 2nd Munitions, is holding a Memorial, 1000, April 3rd, at First Baptist, Bossier City. Brian, Sr., and Kinney will be coming down; please keep them in your prayers.
Again, I thank you all.
Praise the Lord on Ava’s behalf!
God rest the soul of our hero....Brian......
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue...

Thanks for the good news update about Ava. So very good to see. Continued prayers for you and the family during this time. Remembering Brian as I type.
