Short Bus's Obama Birth Certificate Defense Is Officially ZOTTED
The Stir ^ | 3/2/12 | Sasha Brown-Worsham

Posted on 03/02/2012 9:17:36 AM PST by Short Bus

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona is bound and determined to make sure we never forget the embarrassment of the birther movement. Most of us would love to put that ugly little racist blip in our history -- a time when conspiracy theorists and fools alike accused President Barack Obama of not being American. But Arpaio, a sheriff in Phoenix, Arizona, just won't give it up.

Can we say beating a dead horse, people? Sometimes it seems like certain politicians just do things to help out Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Bill Maher. After all, how else does anyone explain Arpaio's inane and insane assertion that Obama, a man who produced his birth certificate last year, isn't American?

See his ranting [here].

"Forgery or fraud may have been committed," says Arpaio. Ooooh no! Are ghosts and goblins real, too, Sheriff Arpaio? How about the Loch Ness Monster? Do you go visit old Nessie on your days off from enforcing the laws of Arizona?

In all seriousness, this is vile racism plain and simple. In a place like Arizona, it's no surprise -- after all, many politicians there (including Arpaio) hold rather Draconian views on immigration -- and it's disgusting. And it's getting old fast.

For all you doubters for whom book learning was apparently a challenge, here are the facts: President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu on August 4, 1961. He has produced both a certificate of live birth during the 2008 campaign and the long-form certificate last year. Neither has been disproved.

So why is this still going on? Arpaio seems like a joke, but, according to Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney doesn't think so. Yesterday LaBolt tweeted:

Romney has called Arpaio for his endorsement, his aides called "weekly" and Arpaio was his honorary Chair in 08.
That's embarrassing. The fact is, most people agree Arpaio is a few cards shy of a full deck, but here we are still talking about him. Is this an alternate universe? Why am I guessing this guy is the type of person who stays at parties hours after they have ended asking for more chips and guacamole? Dude, the party is over, the ship has sailed, and you are beating a dead horse.

Sadly, there aren't enough cliched ways to say IT'S OVER to make it any clearer to this guy.

The house needed a lot of work. Even with all of the fixing we've done, we STILL aren't "under water" on our mortgage.

Once the deck and the new garage are on though, we probably will be. :-(

Washer troubles and idiosyncracies:

Wobbles? check load - it might have shifted.

Groans? Needs bearing lubed or replaced and possibly also the belt.
Makes odd articulate noises: that is the clutch solenoid - it activates when the next part of the cycle begins such as from wash to spin and rinse.

Last, but not least, in mine (top load) there is a metal bar/spring type device with a plastic button that rests on the edge of the tub to keep the tub from wobbling during the spin cycle. That plastic button wears down over time and the device’s grip on the tub loosens.

Experience with a top of the line Kenmore Washer that dates back to when my nearly 20 year old daughter was in diapers.

I just got back from having my eyes examined and when I walked out of lensCrafters, I went directly across the mall to the cookie shop and bought two double chocolate fudge cookies and a double fudge nut brownie.

Hanging in there.

Staring out my window looking at the nice, blue sky and wondering why I’m indoors.

Darn working for a living.

Our skies are “iffy” today with lots of wind in the forecast. I may as well be in Alaska, for the way it’s blowing here.

Or Chicago. Wait. That’s in the People’s Republic of Illinois, and I don’t wanna be there...

We had lots of wind and rain this morning. I almost did a Mary Poppins when I got off the bus and deployed my umbrella.

You’d be surprised how many Mary Poppins episodes we have here...no one expects the desert to be windy, but Vegas is in a “bowl” and the wind just races around it like a NASCAR.

I hate the bus route that services this area: it’s once an hour and only goes in once direction. Meeting up with another bus in the grid is an exercise in sanity.

I’ve applied to the paratransit system here, but since I used to work for them, I think they are going to refuse my application. This time, I won’t tolerate it.

LOL!

We had a Maytag that pulled a support bolt out of the floorpan, so it would then hop across the floor.
I was in the laundry room the day it did this.
It hopped across teh floor and bumped into me.
I spun around to look at it, and it hopped backwards.
[Looked like it had jumped back.]
Then it started moving towards me, so I stepped to my right.
The washer followed.
I stepped left, the washer followed.
I backed up into the slop sink and started yelling and the washer moved forward at me some more and started making horrid banging noises.

I have finally reached the point where I can have someone touch me. Last Thursday I went for xrays and an evaluation at the chiropractor’s. I took a substantial hit in several places - neck, left shoulder hips and knees. My spine is twisted in several places and bone spurs are present in most of my joints. It is going to take some time for the swelling to subside so that things can be moved back into place and stay put. I need a source of Omgea 3 fish oil WITHOUT SOY!!!! Apparently that helps reduce inflammation. NSAIDs are contraindicated with Benicar. I want to get off that stuff.....

Soy sucks. The Orientals used it only during times of famine, and today’s soy is only palatable as soy SAUCE! Any other forms of soy, (tofu, soy milk, etc) will beat up on your digestive system.

If soy is in the first five ingredients of a product, I will NOT buy it.

check out iherb.com for things to help your inflammation.

"Mine wobbles, groans, makes odd articulate noises, and then lurches."

Sounds like me, after a few.

Maybe it's not really possessed, and is simply infected. Ate a bad sock, perhaps?
