FOXBORO Not thats there any way to quantify this, but the betting here is that the same people who were crowing last week about how theres no such thing as divine intervention in pro sports were pointing at the flat screen last night and saying, Hey, Tebow, wheres your divine intervention now?
But before continuing, lets be clear:

Personally, I think Tim can develop into an excellent second-tier QB at the level of a Rivers, Big Ben, or Doug Flutie.
You state that the bottom line is winning, and then put big Ben in as a second tier QB even though he has been to three and won two Super Bowls.
Rivers is second tier and Doug Flutie was an also ran in the pros.
Flutie threw a Hail Mary pass in college that won a game and lived off that for years as a backup and some times plug in starter for a couple of pro teams.
Flutie was described as hard working and gritty, meaning he had little talent, but he did bust his butt.
Rivers is a good looking family man {6 kids} good QB and continues to choke in the clutch.
And when poor, unprotected Tebow was dropped for a loss of 11 yards early in the third quarter of the Patriots [team stats] 45-10 trampling of the Broncos last night at Gillette Stadium, that wasnt Gods will. It was the will of Vince Wilfork [stats] and Rob Ninkovich.
Actually, that WAS God's will. He is indeed interested in every part of our lives to the point of numbering the hairs on our heads. I don't pretend to be able to explain how the shellacking the Broncos took is used by God, but my ignorance of it doesn't in any way mean that its outside of God's perfect will. God is sovereign and that includes the entertainment of football.
SIGH.
What a sad when when society can't recognize good when its staring them in the face. Have we become so jaded that good is now abnormal?
God help us all.
In past years, Bellichick and the Patriots have fashioned defensive schemes that defeated Peyton Manning and some of the best Colt teams, as well as many other teams. Tebow did about as much as he could against a superior defensive effort, and the writer pointed that out.
Wait ‘till next year.
New England was just flat-out better yesterday, and there's nothing wrong with that. It happens in sports all the time, and I say this as someone who still has fond memories of my Giants laying a beating on the San Francisco 49ers by a 49-3 score in the playoffs en route to their first Super Bowl championship.
It takes a whole team, not a Tebow to win a championship. Tim Tebow had an outstanding season and has every reason to be happy, although we know they wanted that playoff. He’ll be back next year with a better defense, I hope.
Its a lame question. A better question would be: Does spending time with the likes of Zach McLeod get in the way of winning? Obvious answer: No. Pro athletes have all kinds of pregame rituals. This is Tebows. Deal with it.That is a defense of Tebow and his great work.
Yes, I read that. I’m talking about Denver fans (and others, too).
Really interesting that Tim Tebow has NEVER claimed that his worship and praise of the Lord when he drops to his knee is for the purpose of asking God to help him and the Broncos win a football game. Only the haters here on FR and in the general public have made that assumption. It’s the lunkheads who are to be pitied for their hatred.
I really have no idea why you have no idea.
... and somehow that makes him a Tebow hater in the eyes of some.
Gods will be done in all things, ALL THINGS.
I too watched the game and the Broncos offense and defense were lousy. Tebow was unprotected, and I asked myself “Father, whhere are You?” I got my answer. I think Tebow is being tested. Will his love for God turn on a loss, or will he continue to love God no matter what the outcome. Keeping Tebow humble. Put NO false gods before Me. I think Tim will pass the test, and Gods will be done.
BTW, who says God can’t enjoy a football game? For all we know he could have been sitting on the 50. He can do whatever He pleases.
I agree, yet I think we tend to believe that God intervenes more often than he really does.
God created us - but I think be tends to be hands off and allows us to achieve or fail on our own. If God’s hand was involved on behalf of Tim Tebow, his will has been done. Have we not all been debating or praising his will? When is the last time a major media outlet made his will the subject of numerous reports - for weeks?
The Lord and Tebow have won. A dialouge , either positive or negative and even quoting scriptures has been taking place across the country that otherwise would not have been.
I haven’t read all the responses, so if I repeat what someone else has said, so be it....
Last night’s game proved one thing; on this particular night the Patriots were the better team.
Tebow’s performance showed that without a good offensive line, the best quarterback in the world (and no, I am not referring specifically to him, just generically) can stink.
I have nothing against Tebow personally or professionally. He seems like a fine young man who knows there is more to life than football.
My only disappointment; the game itselt, especially after that nail-biter in San Francisco.
I don't recall anybody ever stating that on FR.
Only the haters here on FR and in the general public have made that assumption
I wish you would name some of Tebow haters that are on FR.
Last week I was a hater and an Obama fan because I was rooting for the Steelers.
Tebow: Still, it wasnt a bad day. It still was a good day because before the game I got to spend some time with Zach McLeod and make him smile, and when you get to do that its still a positive day and its still a good day.
I think Tebow can handle it.
