***What If The Sphinx Is A Woman***

Consider this.....History in written by the victors....I was watching a great series on Netflix.... "The Pyramid Code" which provides a much more reasonable explanation of things Egypt than the standard "tales"
We keep being told the Pyramids were tombs built by Pharaohs, but there were never any mummies found in the Great Pyramid.....
Another thought that was raised was that there were great Female Pharaohs that reigned over great years of peace, but who were then almost erased by religious leaders, MEN, who followed them..
To this end I offer the suggestion that all Egyptologists ignore: That the nose of the Sphinx was removed to prevent others from seeing the resemblance to a female....
I will rely on more HTML folks to provide a picture of the Sphinx, and you all can ponder the possibilities
TOPICS: Chit/Chat; History; TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: anubis; egypt; giza; godsgravesglyphs; greatpyramid; greatsphinx; shesepankh; sphinx; tsoukalos; vondaniken

If it was okay for Albert, it's good enough for him. Besides, I like him.

Oh Joy! I was going through the posts, hoping that someone would have posted a pic of the true original Sphinx.
You Sir, are not slipping a jot, not a tiddle, not a lot.

That the nose of the Sphinx was removed to prevent others from seeing the resemblance to a female.... The nose of the Sphinx was "removed" by Napoleon's soldiers, who used the Sphinx for artillery target practice.

Thanks - that's the best compilation of historical Sphinx images I've seen.
Oddly, the original model appears to have been George Washington.

Were the boobs also removed?
No boobs, no woman.

The Sphinx has captivated the ages. George Eastman recreated this composition.

The Sphinx, as ancient as it is, was in relatively good condition until it was vandalized by the Muslims.

He looks like a Centauri, from Babylon 5. Maybe one of Londo Molari’s clan... /g

It would be cool if the Sphinx was actually a giant battle robot just waiting to be activated...

Napoleon’s army used the nose for target practice.
Any photo’s any earlier to dispute ?

I thought the earliest sphinxes were depicted as female — insofar as one could tell.
What’s really odd about the one at Giza is how small the head in relation to the body. Looks like someone kept chiseling, and ignored the cardinal rule of art: When you’re done, stop!
