1.If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2.If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3.If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4.Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5.It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7.It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8.Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9.For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10.but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
11.When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12.Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13.And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Beautiful Tribute to t-pammy
Lovely scripture, Meg, and one of my all time favorites. I think we enjoyed a glorious Sunday here today with tributes to our deceased friends, Tiapam and Cardhu, and many prayers for our lovely friend, yorkie, who is fighting hard and making good progress and we will keep our prayers going towards the Heavens for her.
Thanks for your lovely opening and all the pretty pansy thank you messages. And thank you to all friends for the contributions to the Sunday thread.
Goodnight and May God Bless Us All.
Thank you, (((jaycee)))
This scripture was read at my husband’s, mother and dad’s funerals and my children’s weddings..It means so much to me.
It was comforting to gather with our FRiends and share our love and sorrows.
Prayers ongoing for yorkie’s healing.
God Bless You
RIP, tiapam.
Thank you, Meg, again. God Bless You.
(((BQ)))
God Bless.
Thank you. I also read your post about the scripture, that is so moving (and special, albeit bittersweet). Wish I could hug you now!
And p.s. I forgot to say that I knew what yorkie and Cardy looked like, but had never seen a photo of tiapam. So, thank you very much for posting that lovely photo.
Kitty,
That is one of my most favorite passages of scripture.
What a marvelous tribute to Card and TiaPam....
Meg, it was read at my wedding and our minister wrote the scripture numbers in the front of my white Bible that I carried with an orchid and hanging ribbons and flowers. Thats when I started loving it. It means a lot to me.
Sleep Well!
Goodnight, Dear FRiends.
