We had plenty of warning but I dreaded when it did happen. You’ve always done an excellent job and you will be missed. It won’t be the same but we’ll have to deal with it! Like we said a while back, sometimes its really busy around here and then there’s those quiet days when everyone is busy doing other things.

We hope you’ll drop in here when you can!! Thanks, Amy, for being an excellent hostess all these years. You will be missed! ((((HUGS))))

"Oh, crap! I’m sorry. I just remembered that we did the same thing here."

Ain't it the truth though??

Missing An Angel was the first one I heard and I was hooked from then on. Imagine helping someone who is in need, and you end up the one who is helped most. Kinda like that pay it forward stuff. It's a great song.

When you watch the video for Kicking Stones, let me know what message you get from the song. Just curious if others 'hear' the same thing I did.

Thanks Jaycee. I been lurking and stealing stuff for my FaceBook, so Amy's Place is not really new to me. Lots of good stuff gets posted on these threads. I am sure you will enjoy at least some of Reid's songs. Good stuff.

It looks as though there may have been a minor glitch with my poem that Amy posted earlier. The fifth line of the poem disappeared into the internet vapor.

Here's the way it should read:

Outside In

No matter how snug your cabin,
There’s one thing you still must do.
Build it right, and chink it tight,
And always leave a view.

All of our comforts come with a price,
A ball and inevitable chain,
A sense of discomfort you’ve kept away,
As seen through your own windowpane.

The best room is always the one where you live,
And the fireplace makes it so warm,
But you must have a window to see the outside,
As you all snuggle safe from the storm.

NicknamedBob . . . . . . . . March 2, 2005

Now, to help make up for this little glitch, here's a different version of essentially the same poetic concept:

The Cabin Window

No matter how rude the cabin,
The window will face to the scene,
Of Winter's fresh carpet of glory,
Or Summer's lush meadow of green.

The window's a part of the inside,
It makes the insidedness right.
For it shows what you're trying to keep away,
The storms, and the bumps in the night!

Like a magnet that has both a north and a south,
Our comforts align the same way.
While you stare at your pleasant warm fire,
The window will show the cold day.

For while your feet are in slippers,
As you snuggle down all of your toes,
The window displays the rain and the wind,
As a lullaby helping you doze.

NicknamedBob . . . . . . December 4, 2006

So why would I write the same poem twice? Well, one day I was looking for one of them, and I couldn't remember the title. So rather than waste a lot of time looking for it, I simply wrote another poem to take its place.

Don't we all do that?

Hi, Jaycee! Excellent post! I'm snagging the pic - it needs wide distribution.
