As the drums for direct military intervention to derail Irans purported covert military nuclear weapons program beat louder in both Jerusalem and Washington, an overlooked issue is the possibility of international collateral damage, to use the Pentagons favourite euphemism for civilian casualties.
On 14 November South Koreas Chosun Ilbo stated, "Hundreds of North Korean scientists and engineers are working at about 10 nuclear and missile facilities in Iran, including Natanz, The North Koreans are apparently rotated every six months." Russian technicians also remain at Irans first nuclear electrical energy facility, Bushehr. So, any aerial strikes against Irans nuclear facilities could result in significant numbers of dead Russian and North Korean specialists as collateral damage, with all the diplomatic uncertainties that might ensue from Moscow and Pyongyang as the body bags start arriving home.
The https://www.cia.govwebsite, which listed the report, describes the Chosun Ilbo website as conservative in editorial orientation -- strongly nationalistic, anti-North Korea, and generally pro-U.S.
For those looking for more smoking guns, Japans Sankei Shimbun reports that among the Iranian sites the North Koreans have been involved in are three research centres carrying out simulations of how to trigger nuclear weapons.
The news complicates the situation for advocates of a clean surgical strike against Irans nuclear facilities.
History seems to be repeating itself. The world has in fact lived Full article at: Airstrike Against Iranian Nuclear Facilities Could Kill 100s of North Koreans and Russians
I see that as a feature not a bug.
Is that sort of like when you spray for termites and a couple of dead rats pop up as well?
Then, perhaps those folks might want to think about leaving.
Of course, the Cretin-in-Chief just might give them notice that we’re going to bomb so that they can leave.
Yes, he is THAT corrupt, stupid, and without worth.
Jeez, the headline tries to make it sound like that would be a bad thing.
Oh well.
Yup - my first thoughts were: And the downside is....?

I don't see the complication. Helping a rogue government to build nuclear weapons for use against Israel is not a good thing, and those who engage in that activity are not innocent. A few hundred dead Russian and North Korean nuclear weapons workers strikes me as a bonus. Maybe Israel can strike when they are doing their turnover from one batch to the next and take out extra nuclear mercenaries in a single strike?
Hazzard of supporting a Terrorist state....too bad!
Russian and China have been beefing up Iran’s air defenses too.
So don’t feel too bad for them.....

I think we could handle North Korea. I mean, those people eat bark off of trees. They may have the hate in the upper levels, but I don’t think NK will EVER be able to boot on a ground. Iran is a bigger threat, because I firmly believe they can reach us.
NK has already made moves against our allies, the Japanese. If they were to lash out at the Japanese for a US / Israel led bombing, it would be kinda stupid (Although “Stupid” is Kim’s middle name)
Russia ? No way. please please please don’t piss off Russia. Not with our current moron in office. We’ll be nuked so fast I won’t have time to take a pill.
Well they don’t belong there anyway.
I’m sure the MSM will give ample notice so they can move in the women an children.
Wouldn’t be the first time some NK’s were blown up at a nuke facility.

No, I don't want to start a real fight with Russia, but I don't think they will overreact. They'll be annoyed, and Israel needs to apologize sincerely after killing the Russian scientists, but it's worth the price. It hasn't crossed my mind since Bush refused to do what he should have done before leaving office that the United States would be directly involved. It's Israel on their own, saving us from our weakness. Again. And Russia will let it go after some rather vocal complaints.
“Collateral damage”?......more like “Unexpected Additional Benefit”.
Can you believe that they actually pay people to do fun stuff like this? I’d take the money for the Disney World vacation to buy a seat on a bomber getting North Koreans.
“Drop the food first so we can get ‘em all outside for the Daisy-Cutters”.
Iranian counter measures, set up child daycare centers at the sites. The foreigners knew that their job would be hazardous to their health before they took it on. :o)
Is there a down side?
