“foreign shark” - they’re always way worse than those native sharks. Bunch of troublemakers.

caused by a "foreign shark"

Eating the tourists the local sharks won't.

The Seychelles Tourism Board's director Alain St Ange told the BBC the latest attack was caused by a "foreign shark" and was a "freak accident". He said: "We need to find the beast and get it out of our waters, we have requested help from South Africa and two experts are arriving in the country in the next day."

If only we could act that quickly with our illegals.

Right, a “foreign shark,” not native to the ocean or anything.

Poor fellow. Der Prinz and I spend our honeymoon in Missouri to avoid incidents such as this.

Bites in the hip/groin area suggest that the femoral vessels were cut..unless you're outside an ER when that happens, bleeding out is just about inevitable..

However if it turns out that just before leaving for the honeymoon, the bride took out a huge insurance policy on her new husband, will they arrest the shark as an accomplice?

“The Seychelles Tourism Board’s director Alain St Ange told the BBC the latest attack was caused by a “foreign shark” and was a “freak accident”.”

Typical Tourism board BS. If the waters were infested with sharks they would say the fishing was great - come on down & bring the family.

I guess local sharks don’t bite people.

A “freak accident” is something unintentional, but the shark clearly intended to bite the man - multiple times. It could have been the same shark from the previous attack, so the shark liked human flesh & went back for more.

Better catch that sucker before he kills again.

FYI:

While on a Caribbean cruise, we took a day trip snorkeling with a guide approved by the ship.

Drinks were provided in plastic cups, which we enjoyed on the way out. The snorkeling was good.

On the way back in, the guide ran out of cups. He gave the mate the dirty cups, who went below. He returned shortly with a “fresh” stack of cups. Only, they were the dirty cups, & it was obvious.

These people don't give a damn about YOU. Only your money matters & they already have that before you leave the dock. They know you will be leaving port later that day, so stealing is virtually worry free. Leave your jewelry in the safe on the ship, & don't dress like money. You are advertising your good fortune to the WRONG people.

Look out for yourself at all times & don't depend on a guide to protect you or your valuables.

I think the only UDT/SEAL killed by a shark was killed by a bull in near identical circumstances; he was on vacation somewhere in the Caribbean with his girlfriend. Also, the perpetrator of the infamous turn-of-the-century New Jersey shark attacks that inspired “Jaws” may have been a bull, not a Great White. You don’t want to mess with a Great White, but the Bull has been the real man-killer.
