There are many here on Free Republic that absolutely love our "Fru-babies". We post pics and follow each other, well I thought it would be terrific if we post the pictures of our 'babies'.
I don't know about you all but mine 'get me through' these nightmarish days. They love me no matter what. They are there and want to be with me no matter what. That includes the way I now look in the mornings! LOL!

Minette is gorgeous. I love the ‘half’ tail...just adds to her character and Jake...what a handsome guy. I can see the Great Dane but not the Boxer part.
Most people don’t realize how nurturing Cats can be. You and your husband know. Same around here, if I’m ill or in the past had a badly infected tooth from a bridge put in by a quack. Smokey stayed by my side 24/7.

btw...I was just reviewing the thread. Tell Mr freekitty good luck. Cataract (sp) surgery is a breeze now. They do it with laser. Quick recoup time too.

I agree. I don’t know if all animals go to Heaven, but I kind of think that our special pets could easily be there. :)
Yep. Ranger’s all Terv. They are an energetic breed, although the room you need may be less than you think. I have about a 1,200 sq. ft. condo with a small fenced in court yard. Now admittedly, as a bachelor, I have less furniture than a lot of people which kind of opens up the space a little, but the more important thing is, I commit to getting him to the dog park, a little jog through the neighborhood, or a walk in the nearby woods virtually every day. With that, I have ample room, and the size of my place has never been an issue (even when I had Timber and Ranger). It does entail a level of commitment, and yeah, I have to give up some things I’d otherwise like to do, but in that regard, I suppose it’s really no different than having a kid. Don’t write off a breed before you weigh everything, and consider how willing you’d be to modify your lifestyle to accomodate what may turn out to be the perfect dog for you.
Thank you, she was a sweetheart. She lived her last couple of years with my son because when we moved here we could only have 2 dogs (darned Florida HOA!) and she was always really his dog. She died of cancer, but was only sick for a couple of weeks. You can’t tell in the photo (those were black and white’s my son took and I photoshopped it into a sepia) but she was an orange roan. She had a few AKC points, but I stopped showing her because she really didn’t like the show ring (it stressed her) and she was already pretty old by the time the breed was recognized by AKC. It wasn’t worth it, she was a Champion to me. :)
I don’t think I’ve seen your dogs before. Beautiful! I had a GSD as a kid, awesome dog. :)

She looks like a real sweetie. I understand about the showing. Doesn’t matter. If you show; have fun and if the dog doesn’t like it take her out. I have one that hated it; was so bored. We just knew she was going to lay down in the ring. LOL One time in a practice class; everyone was practicing except Keeley. She was looking into the mirror on the back wall at herself. Could have cared less. Her sister is just the opposite. She screams look at me when she goes into the ring.
