There are many here on Free Republic that absolutely love our "Fru-babies". We post pics and follow each other, well I thought it would be terrific if we post the pictures of our 'babies'.
I don't know about you all but mine 'get me through' these nightmarish days. They love me no matter what. They are there and want to be with me no matter what. That includes the way I now look in the mornings! LOL!
Show YOUR babies here... :) Here are a few of mine both past and present...
Yeah, she’s still a big kitten most of the time. Or a little tiger...
Ref post #139
The Ditters are workin’ on it. :)
LOL I keep forgetting. How is Mr. Ditter doing with his Mac? I love mine; although it is different. I still haven’t upgraded; but need an external drive. Try getting the Mac store out here to even answer the phone. I think I will take my computer somewhere else to get all this done.
Mr. freekitty is going in for cataract surgery this Wed. We are getting prepared for that.
Ahh got it. Thanks! Never knew that. So yours is purely Tervuren though right?
Did you ever see the movie Big Jake with John Wayne? Anyway he had a dog (aptly named “Dog” lol) that was a Terv. First one I ever saw and didn’t know what it was until recently but it always stood out because of that black face and beautiful coat. They sound a bit...what’s the word...less laid back though than what I thought. I’m sure that must be because of their genetic makeup of being herders...well that’s just mo of course. Still would love to have one but it will have to wait until I get more land.
Thanks for all the info Joe. I’ve really enjoyed learning these things!
You get carried away all you want! There is a reason collies were such great farm dogs! They were good with the animals AND the kids. When I was a kid we had horses and the place we stabled them had an old collie. I don’t know what they call the color, but he wasn’t the regular sable, but more of a blond color (I always thought it was like a palomino horse!) and white. Anyway, I can’t remember his name, but he was so great, all of us loved him. He was always there, and so good with all of the kids who came to ride their horses and hang around. I actually love male dogs more. But don’t tell Pauli that, she will get her feelings hurt. ;)
This is Minette, my sweet rescue kitteh.
She only has half a tail.
She is the best kitteh, ever!
When I was recovering from surgery, she would curl up on me a be a "nurse kitteh".
She did the same for my husband when he was recovering from cancer surgery.
This is Jake.
He was abandoned by one of my tenants.
The vet thinks he's half Boxer and half Great Dane.
I forgot to tell you, yes, he was the best puppy sitter. They would hang off his beard. That is a golden puppy. Poor Rigel (the spinone). I got him from the UK, but he turned out to have hip dysplasia, so I never bred him. However, he was just the most awesome buddy you could imagine. And even tho he would grumble at the puppies he wouldn’t hurt a fly and they knew it. When he’d had enough of them he would get up and go somewhere else.
And of course all the girl dogs (he was the only boy on the place) always gave him a hard time. He was such a sweet and gentle spirit. His only goal in life was to be as close to me as he could physically be. Like a piece of velcro. At the time the breed was not AKC recognized and by the time they were he had gotten pretty old and was gimpy. He only got his ARBA CH which is not a very big deal. But I loved that boy. He died of torsion at age 11. Broke my heart. My English gentleman, Goldfly’s Heavenly Star. OK now you’ve done it, I’m going to be looking at spionone photos all day.
Mr Ditter is cursing his MAC right now, I don't think he likes it very much. ;)
Good luck, it’s amazing what all they can do these days.
Awww! Who could stay mad at that face?
LOL Thanks
De nada.
But dont tell Pauli that, she will get her feelings hurt. ;)
lol! ok my lips are sealed.
What great details. I could ‘see’ those puppies hanging on his beard and ‘hear’ his grumblings. Sounds like he was a wonderful friend. I hope our pets are in heaven; I can’t see our God not keeping them for us until we get there.
There were 120 doggies up for adoption at the shelter.
I went to each and every one, and each one was jumping up and down as if to say “TAKE ME!!”.
Then I went to Linda’s kennel. She walked up to the gate, kissed my hand and sat down as if to say “Don’t listen to those other ones, Girlfriend. I’M the one you want!”
It was love at first sight.
