Explanation: Fix your digital camera to a tripod, start a long series of exposures, and you too can record star trails. The concentric arcs traced by the stars as planet Earth rotates on its axis often produce dreamlike scenes in otherwise familiar situations. Fall asleep, though, and the results might surprise you. Setting up on a summer night, photographer Mike Rosinski began his exposures, initially planning to capture about 45-55 minutes worth of star trails from his yard in Hartland, Michigan, USA. But he dozed, only to awaken some 3 hours later to find his camera had continued to run until the battery died. Composing the resulting images, the graceful concentric star trails were expected, along with light from a late rising Moon glinting on windows. Still, as he slept on the warm night a blizzard of yellow streaks flooded the scene, not left by fairies but fireflies.

oopsie...I left my camera aperture open all night!
hehehe
I attempted to do this last year....set up the tripod, camera on timer, apperture wide open.
Promptly fell asleep. Tripod platform tipped, camera dipped...and I had 434 exposures of me sleeping, snoring, drooling!!
And no...I'm not posting the composite!!!
Oh, you SHOULD post it! Call it “Fine Art” and you’ll make a fortune! hahaha.
I had to wash my tshirt and everything!!!
No posting...not of that particular composition. But I do look at is from time to time. In fact, any time I think I'm attractive to women. I take one look and realize that I'm not...not even close.
Saves me a lot of time and money too!
Is that the light of an airplane track to the right of the house, just on the tree line? If so, what is the break in the light trail about a quarter of the way on the left of it?
In any event, the firefly trails make for a neat effect on the tried and true long exposure night sky photo.
LOL. I went to Art College during the 70’s and your “Composite” sounds JUST like the “Performance Art” we were subjected to on a regular basis.
I was a Graphic Design major. It puzzled me that for four years I NEVER had a single class in “Graphics” or “Design”! LOL
Your “Construct” would win a Blue Ribbon! hahaha
You're toooo kind!!! {blush, blush, blush}
I have a name for your “Piece”.
“Star Stalker”
Here’s one you can appreciate.
bttt
Very neat picture... sort of a combination of stars and math.. all at the same time. Are the yellow “slashes” from another light source like a lightening bug or are the slashes from the star light?
Very nice....had a friend of mine call it "NGS"
"Nocturnal Geezer Syndrome"
I call Broward County, which is situated on a coral ridge,
“The Geezer Plateau”
I live up here in the upper, upper mid-west. During the winter, they call it, “Geezer Tundra”.
neat
I’ll trade you my Florida Geezers for Your Tundra Geezers any day!
And I’ll throw in a couple of Homeowner Association Presidents to sweeten the pot!
};-)
