His Eye Is On The Sparrow was one of my Dad’s favorite songs and he requested it be sung at his funeral which was sung by a family friend.

A great promise of that song is “I know He watches me.” He watches over me gives great comfort.

Polly, I reach out to you in prayer for comfort from Our Lord Jesus Christ.

You shared with me some time ago that the author of "No More Nights" was a member of your church. I had a friend sing that song at my mother's funeral. The words are a promise that I hold dear.

The chorus...

No More Nights, No More Pain
No More Tears Never Crying Again
Praises to The Great I Am
We Will Live In the Light Of The Risen Lamb

When I read your words, I feel your grief so much that my tears well up easily. I pray so hard that God will give you the strength to get through this. With all the problems you’ve had recently it makes everything ten times harder. But He will get you through this, dear Polly. I will try to FReepmail you later today and give you some hard trials I’ve faced when giving up my mother and the hardest was letting my husband go.

God Bless You at this time and I pray that you will find peace very soon. ((((Hugs))))

Its my favorite, too, and I also have requested that song for my funeral (many years from now, I hope) LOL! I used those words as my tagline as they mean so much to me.

This is the way I feel about the tiny sparrows. I think God puts us in charge of the sparrows who come to our homes. For instance, I always keep a large flower pot saucer full of water for them. I have pretty rocks in the bottom of the saucer. They don’t like the big birdbath. But they have a terrific time in that saucer. I have to fill it several times a day as they splash it out so quickly. They make me think they always know where the water is and I think they are having so much refreshing fun!

I just now listened to your song “I’m coming home” and now I am crying~~~~this has been a very emotional morning for me and I’ve gotta pull myself up so I can start this day. Thank you, yorkie. ((((Hugs))))

Prayers for all our friends who are suffering and in pain this morning. May God hold their hands today. And I hope He holds my hand, too.

I’m gonna try to find a happy graphic after breakfast....LOL!

PRAYER REQUEST FOR THE FAMILIES OF THE 22 ELITE NAVY
SEALS AND SEVEN OTHER AMERICANS!

My heart breaks because we have lost 30 of America's best
defenders, Navy Seals and others. Please let's pray
for the famiies of these heroes. I heard someone say
on TV this AM that it takes 10 years to train
a Navy Seal. This seems to be such a terrible
loss for their families and our nation.

Join me in spending more time praying Psalm 91
over every man and women in combat.
God promises to put angels around us to protect us.

Thank you for praying~~~~~

Diver Dave,
Thank you for bringing this song to my remembrance.
It is comforting to me at this time.

Yes, Walt Harrah, was a member of our church when he wrote “ No More Night”. It is song that is part of a musical.
Lake Ave.Sanctuary Choir, which I was a part of at the time, recorded the album. It is one of my husband’s favorite songs.

” Living in the Light of our Risen Lamb”......I’m holding on to that phrase as I begin this day.

Polly

Fishing Where They Ain’t
August 8, 2011

I have a good friend I fish with now and then. He’s a very thoughtful man. After climbing into his waders and boots and gathering up his gear, he sits on the tailgate of his truck and scans the river for 15 minutes or more, looking for rising fish. “No use fishing where they ain’t,” he says. This makes me think of another question: “Do I fish for souls where they ain’t?”

It was said of Jesus that He was “a friend of tax collectors and sinners” (Luke 7:34). As Christians, we are to be unlike the world in our behavior, but squarely in it as He was. So we have to ask ourselves: Do I, like Jesus, have friends who are sinners? If I have only Christian friends, I may be fishing for souls “where they ain’t.”

Being with nonbelievers is the first step in “fishing.” Then comes love—a heart-kindness that sees beneath the surface of their off-hand remarks and listens for the deeper cry of the soul. It asks, “Can you tell me more about that?” and follows up with compassion. “There is much preaching in this friendliness,” pastor George Herbert (1593–1633) said.

Such love is not a natural instinct. It comes solely from God. And so we pray: “Lord, when I am with nonbelievers today, may I become aware of the cheerless voice, the weary countenance, or the downcast eyes that I, in my natural self-preoccupation, could easily overlook. May I have a love that springs from and is rooted in Your love. May I listen to others, show Your compassion, and speak Your truth today.”

We are to be channels of God’s truth— not reservoirs.

What a comfort!! What a comfort!! I knew yesterday I needed a place to go sit....or stroll. Somehow when I hurt, I find Amy's Place so peaceful and reassuring.

Thank you for these words Kitty Mittens. I do believe that you and others here were guided by God's Holy Spirit to minister with His Word. Never did I dream that losing my dear Marilyn would hurt so.
