Brian Josephson, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist, asked a question on Andrea Rossis blog about the quality of the 1MW demonstration in October. He has been a defender of true research in the LENR field, frequently challenging debunkers to back up their objections with logic instead of repeating the same one-sided attacks so often a signature of pseudosceptics. In answer, Rossi invited him to the test. I am assuming that the question did come from Josephson but there is no doubt that the invite is real:

October demo Andrea,
Youve said the 1MW E-cat due in October will be the real test, but in what way will it be more convincing than the ones done so far? Will it be done in such a way that people are sure about the amount of water/steam coming out of the reactor, and how dry the steam is (which affects the heat content)?
Andrea Rossi July 30th, 2011 at 6:11 AM
Dear Prof. Brian Josephson (Nobel Prize), First of all, thank you for your very important attention. Please read very carefully what I am writing to you: 1-The 1 MW plant that we will start up in October will be tested, on behalf of our Customer, by very, very high level world class scientists. You are in the list, so please, if you want and you can, take free the last week of October. 2- The test will be witnessed by several very, very high level world class scientific journalists 3- The E-Cats we are working with now in our factories, which will be the modules of the 1 MW plant, are producing perfectly dry steam, mostly without energy input, as you will see yourself if you will honour us with your presence. Very Warm Regards, Andrea Rossi
Done properly (and it will have to be), this public launch should provide enough proof for potential customers. At that point, and not before (no matter who calls for it) we will have some certainty about what happens next. If the launch is also attended by senior science correspondents, this is also the time we should see the story break one way or another, depending on results. As so many people have said before, proving such a beast will not be hard and the time for preparation should help arm those like Brian Josephson (assuming he accepts) to be ready to give us a definitive yes or no.
I hope no one on Freerepublic has been taken in by your fraud, you are obviously a party to this.
***Admin mod, perhaps it is considered a personal attack to call another freeper a fraud? Does the burden of proof shift to them at that point?
I posted the link, it is from the State of Florida ... you can look it up yourself
You got the low rent apt that Rossi was using in Florida too.
You don’t have to believe me, look it up. anyone can pull this themselves.
You guys are sorta coming unglued. Maybe you should add more bran in your diet.
Well the Admin can check your ip address and see if it is coming from a proxy service, Rossi’s neighborhood in Florida, or if any of these other accounts posting these stories use the same ip addresses.
I wish I had access to research you using the information the Admin has, but it is going to be very revealing.
Well I am an agnostic on this topic. but it is interesting IF true.
As another poster mentioned earlier he is claiming he will have a 1 MW unit in operation in October. That amount of energy will be hard to fake, so by November we will know if he is changing the world ....or not...
Hard to imagine someone would put themselves in the position to make this sort of claim about a 1MW unit if it is a scam.
I don’t see what the mechanism is to convert enough mass to energy to do this absent fusion or fission.
Actually, there were many people explaining how you could fake it.
The posters here aren’t posting anything that contradicts the story Rossi is telling.
I'm not being compensated in any way to post about any topic on FR. That is a denial, which is something you didn't do.
Marks of a con usually get upset when they find they were taken. So, go ahead, be mad. I expect that.
***Rossi is still around and hasn’t absconded with a bunch of investor money yet. You’re jumping the gun with such comments. Besides, I am one of the few laymen who has money in his pocket due to the replication of a LENR experiment, so no one has conned me yet.
The uneducated, ignorant, and stupid are always easily taken.
***You are absolutely right. That is why I am itching so hard to take your money, to get you to put up or shut up. If you’re right, you have my money. If I’m right, I have your money. Nothing could be simpler than that.

As it is said, if you want to take someone, lie big. Big lies are believed by those that cannot get their head around it.
***I’m a small fry player who just wants to take your money, to have you bet against this technology & put your money where your mouth is, or shut up. If at the end of the day, you walk away with my money, it’s still a good result as far as I’m concerned.
Rossi has a history of lying, from his degree that wasnt to other enterprises that werent, either.
***Yup. There’s plenty of evidence to suggest he isn’t so great. But he hasn’t really been acting like a con man, and almost all the people he has shown the technology to (including well trained scientists) have opened their pocket books or given support in some way. If it is a con, it’s a huge con and it involves many notables in the scientific establishment in Italy.
Your only rebuttal to any comment has been, Youre wrong. Thats it. Thats all youve got, and, frankly, thats all Rossi has given you.
***Your own post betrays your own lack of rebuttal. There were multiple points made, questions asked in the post, but the only thing you comment on is “stuck on stupid”.
I’m not being compensated in any way to post about any topic on FR.
***Same here. I am not being compensated in any way to post about any topic on FR.
although I doubt it will satisfy you, and I don’t really care if it does
I'm not disputing that Rossi may have wanted to build a plant in the US, or that he may have even begun the process, but the fact that he didn't proves what, exactly?
No opinions or conjecture allowed. Tell me exactly what the evidence proves, beyond a shadow of doubt. Facts only, please.
Well the Admin can check your ip address and see if it is coming from a proxy service, Rossis neighborhood in Florida, or if any of these other accounts posting these stories use the same ip addresses.
***Or he can just check my signup date, which is likely to be even before he joined FR. But that won’t stop your paranoid fantasies.
Man, you must be Rossi....only that con artist would keep going like you in desperation.
***I notice that you’re coming unglued when it’s revealed that a Nobel Physicist is Invited to Test the 1MW Plant . Maybe your side of the story is what’s unravelling.
The point was, he said he had started the process, but hadn’t...caught in a lie
AOL email address, low rent apt.
I wouldn’t be shocked if I went to that apt tomorrow and found Rossi sitting in there eating some KFC.
I have no story to tell......just picking apart yours
Kevmo, Defkalion Energy said it was going to get the black box from a company in Florida called Leonardo Corporation that Rossi runs.
Since Leonardo and the factory doesn’t exist then how in the hell is Defkalion going to do anything?
People have called Defkalion and no one has even heard of Rossi. Sure, this is hearsay because I didn’t do the calling, but I encourage you to do so.

He set up an official (if modest) residence in the US, and an internet account. He chose a location, but didn't manage to get his plant built.
Ok class. What have we proven so far? Remember - no opinions or conjecture allowed.
Inelastic quantum scattering of bimolecular systems, here.
Cheers!
Everything he does is a "scam" to you. You've made that word meaningless by throwing it around so loosely. Yes, I've read about the failure to replicate his claims with thermoelectric devices, and about the gold, and so on. None of that constitutes a 'scam' in my book. And apparently not in those of his long-time colleagues. If he was a scammer they'd have walked away from him long ago and be denouncing him now. Instead those who know him best are investing and working with him, as near as I can tell. Where are his past victims crying "LOOK OUT!" to everyone?
You say "take off the rose colored glasses" but that is precisely wrong. I'm trying to weigh ALL the evidence, whereas you seem monomaniacally focused only on the negative evidence (or what you can interpret as negative evidence). I reject both the gullible and the close-minded approaches to this subject.
You saw the thread the other day listing both the pro and the con evidence for the E-cat. What would help your position immeasurably would be to post an explanation of the E-cat as a scam that also explains as much as possible of the 'Pro' evidence. What I see over and over from the close-minded folks is endless rehashing of the same couple 'con' points. You're not grappling with the 'pro' points, and that's why I can't take you seriously.
Yes, I see that from Rossi's own account, assuming it is truthful. It would be helpful for someone who reads Italian and has access to 1980's and 90's Italian newspaper archives to investigate a little and see if his account is basically accurate. Not necessarily to check every little detail, but enough to see if the timeline and key details are correspond with his account.
It's another thing that anti-Rossi crowd could tear him to pieces with, if his account is way off base. But if it is accurate, even arguably so, then they need to back off and find something else to chew on.
You really need to come up for air. Kevmo strikes me as simply a regular person interested in this topic like I am. And I'm just an 'ordinary guy' (an engineer at an auto supplier, with no relation whatever to Rossi or anything else E-cat related).
Please, slow down before your wild attacks cross the line and start getting you into trouble. It's one thing to disagree, another to presumptuously start making accusations of a criminal nature.
