BBQ and beer what can be better.
BBQ beef ribs— homemade — for our big sabbath dinner tonight.
Thanks-——man, that makes a lots of margs.
The Sequoyah opened in 1908; it closed in 1936. When the community approached the Santa Fe Railway to acquire the station for a museum, they were told it was "too close to the tracks." Then the railroad tore it down.
So you don’t think your brain is important?

I try to stay away from Bud, Miller and Coors. I will drink a PBR before them. I live in MS and the big 3 are the ones that keep us from getting good beer here.We have a 5% ABW cap here and I live in a dry county. I have to drive 4-5 hours out of state to get a good beer. We only have one brewery here in MS and homebrewing is aganist the law, but you can make wine and buy whisky. I belong to http://raiseyourpints.com/ a group trying to reform our beer laws in MS.
I only have 2 brain cells.....and they are mad at each other.
That sounds like a heart attack on a plate but also a great meal! Fried okra, my favorite.
Tonight we enjoyed fresh green beans seasoned with chicken broth and Spanish onions, homemade potato salad, and smoked pork chops from Mahogany Meats in Bishop, CA. The web site for ordering on line is www.SMOKEDMEATS.com. Typically on the Lord’s Day we eat Southern even though we live in rural Northern Nevada. This Sunday is sweet potato fries, catfish, and cole slaw. Sweet Hubby was born and bred in Batesville, Arkansas. As an aside, the Batesville Casket Company is the largest provider of caskets in the USA. That bit of trivia was the inspiration for calling the creepy motel in Psycho the Bates Motel.
Nothing that good. Sauteed a couple chicken breasts in butter and having some Evan Williams bourbon on the rocks.
If anyone has a suggestion for another good, cheap bourbon, let me know. There are plenty of good and expensive options, but EW is the best cheap option I’ve found.
My dad used to eat mashed potato sandwiches for lunch, he was so embarrassed, he would run away at lunch and eat alone.
He also had to wait after school because he had to bring home the garbage to feed the pigs.
He ran away at 16, lied and joined the Navy. Terrible stepfather who was running after him with a 2x4, ran by his mom and said “I’m leaving”, she said “I don’t blame you son”.
When I think my life is crappy, I remember such things.
I am a little queasy tonight.
Hope you get to feeling better.
Thank Goodness for left-overs! :D
Had bro and sis in law over for rib eyes on the grill, spicy chicken wings, potatoes with garlic and onion, salad, garlic toast and almond pound cake with peaches and creme on top for desert. Oh, and a few beers on the side.
Waiting for my son to return from Marine Corp Officer Candidate School :)
He should be home any time!
Semper Fi.
I hope you aren’t eating alone as I am.
Reading about good food is nearly as good as eating it so thanks for the thread!
Oh I have had way to many MRE’s. I live in the south but don’t like sweet tea, I only drink unsweet.
