A Mexican national was executed Thursday for the rape-slaying of a teenager after the U.S. Supreme Court turned down a White House-supported appeal to spare him in a death penalty case where Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns. Humberto Leal, 38, received lethal injection for the 1994 murder of Adria Sauceda. She was fatally bludgeoned with a piece of asphalt. Leal was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. EDT (2221 GMT).

>>Funny how conservatives are pro-life and pro-death penalty.<<
Do you not see the the distinction between taking innocent life and executing a murderer?
The death penalty was handed down to Moses from God. It is God’s idea, not man’s.
And Jesus never rescinded it. Even one of the thieves crucified next to Christ said that he deserved the death penalty, while the innocent Christ did not.
Thursday is Fryday! Rot in hell Humberto and up yours Obummer.
FUBO...DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS!!!
Eggsactly. Crime was committed. Perp was caught. Received fair trial and appeals. NO question of guilt. Was executed according to the law of the State.
Nuff said ...
Justice is such a rare and beautiful thing
it needs to be celebrated
Disagreed.
It is utterly inhumane (read 'cruel and unusual') to cage a man for a significant portion of his life (say 20 years); such extended-sentences are often quite disproportionate to the crime committed (10 or 15 years for fraud?) precisely because our current system is so reluctant to engage corporeal punishments.
And if one is put in a place where he can never 'pay his debt to society' then why would you force that very society to provide his upkeep for such a large span of time?
An a little old lady pushed her way to the front of the crowd an started chuckin rocks an Jesus said.....
Mother please !
I second the motion!!
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever read in this forum.
The difference between the death penalty for criminals and abortion is as stark as the difference between guilt and innocence. There is NO hypocrisy whatsoever in holding that one is wrong while the other is right.
Beyond that, the New Testament (not to mention the Old Testament) clearly teaches that capital punishment is not only right but necessary.
Only a liberal would equate the innocence of an unborn child with a guilty murderer.
>>Im all for the death penalty, but really, a celebration?<<
A murderer is dead. WOOHOOO!!!!!! I love it!
The only thing wrong with this story is that the criminal lived 16 years too long.
Enjoy those executions while they still last. I predict the Supreme Court will eventually deem ‘em to be unconstitutional.
That POS had almost two decades worth of appeals all paid for by the taxpayers of Texas so I do not think contacting the Mexican council when he was arrested would have made any difference. Besides he lived in the US illegally since age 2 which under Obama’s immigration proposals would have made him a citizen. I doubt that at the time he murdered that girl he even knew he was a Mexican national.
He doesn't have that power. That is reserved only for the Governor of the state of Texas.
We’ve been told that no person is “illegal” and that these immigrants should be granted citizenship.
So which is it? Is he a Mexican National or is he an undocumented citizen?
The Left can’t have it both ways.
Another dead child rapist murderer.
“DONT MESS WITH TEXAS!!!!”
AMEN!
Obama and his minions are already planning their next move...doling out our hard earned tax dollars to criminals Van Jones style.
