JERUSALEM (AFP) A Jerusalem rabbinical court condemned to death by stoning a dog it suspects is the reincarnation of a secular lawyer who insulted the court's judges 20 years ago, Ynet website reported Friday.
According to Ynet, the large dog made its way into the Monetary Affairs Court in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem, frightening judges and plaintiffs.
Despite attempts to drive the dog out of the court, the hound refused to leave the premises.
One of the sitting judges then recalled a curse the court had passed down upon a secular lawyer who had insulted the judges two decades previously.

I thought this was a joke.
Count me skeptical.
This kind of nonsense makes me embarrassed for my own faith. Religious zealotry and silly superstition like this by anyone is dangerous. The Muslims have elevated it to a violent art form, but it is still ridiculous and embarrassing when perpetrated by Jews or Christians.

“Religious zealotry and silly superstition like this by anyone is dangerous”
Yup. Fanatics are fanatical, and that’s not a good thing, no matter what religion or belief it is.
It sounded as crazy as the daily stories coming out of the Muslim world, and I thought the end times was upon us.
If Jews and Christians begin behaving like Muslims, the world is done.
Maariv Apologizes About Misleading Headline Regarding Stoning Of Dog Story

I do not know the reliability of the source, but this is what I have read.
Israel getting down to the level of Palestinians.
There is no accounting for foolishness.
Exactly the kind of judicial system the Left wants - rule of law replaced by settling scores based on whims.
O.K. So the headline was misleading.
But was the report misleading in saying that someone believed the dog was the reincarnation of someone? Was the report misleading in presenting the story in a manner that portrayed the others in the group as accepting that persons suspicion?
Nevertheless, as written, the article boils down to "one guy said/ but the other guy said". The court manager says the stoning sentence was for real. The rabbinical judge, Levin, denies it. If Levin's right, then he's been slandered. If he's wrong, then he's a liar. Wouldn't there be a written court record?
” the reincarnation of a secular lawyer “?
What about the stoning of ALL CURRENT lawyers?????
(It's obvious to me that there is an enormous philosophical gulf between faithful Jews and the Leftist Labor types in Israel.)

Earlier thread on the story; casts further doubt on its veracity.
Actually, it doesn’t really cast doubt on the veracity as much as it tries to apologize for poor behavior. At least, that’s how I read the “clarification”.

I was just passing info along. I thought that this was the reason this website was started. Silly me.
My focus is on defeating Obama in 2012. You may carry on carrying on......
