I love all those listed so far, but the weekend cannot pass without a screening of Patton.

RESTREPO is amazing!
I think I just got the old Mel Gibson WW2 set ATTACK FORCE Z in the mailbox yesterday. That’s my weekend.

You left out “God is my Copilot”. And on the German tanks, did you expect Hollywood to come up with a couple hundred REAL German Panzers. Get real, they had to improvise. Picky picky!

“Audie Murphys first film, which was a reasonably accurate portrayal of his heroics during WWII.”
That would be “To Hell and Back.” I read Audie Murphy’s biography which has the same title. Great book if you can find it.

The best part of Gods and Generals is Robert Duvall's portrayal of Robt. E. Lee. It puts to shame Martin Sheen's wooden "acting" in Gettyburg.

Absolutely. Duvall is a distant relative of Robert E Lee. Similarly, the former WND Whitehouse Correspondent, Les Kinsolving, is a descendent of William Barksdale, and played him in both Gettysburg and G&G.

“Taking Chance” is the best movie I’ve seen in the last few years. Kevin Bacon should have been nominated for an Oscar for that performance.
