3 years probation for not buying a stinky metro ticket???

Probably wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad if he hadn't compounded the problem by this:

Jacob blew off his court hearing and an arrest warrant was issued.

There's always some that think they are above the law. I see it all the time with people illegally parking in the handicap spots. That is a $100 fine, just for parking where you aren't supposed to. Life is full of choices. Blowing off a court hearing is a bad choice, jmo.

Thanks. He really likes his studies. Good thing too. He could have graduated a year early because he has the amount of credits but there are classes he wants to take to help further his career so he will be going that 4th year. He will have his Bachelor of Science Degree then, but plans to go another 4 or 5 years for his PhD.

He wants to be a research scientist. Funny thing is last night I watched a rerun of CSI NY and the episode revolved around Atropa Belladonna. lol

Sometimes meds are expensive because we don’t know how or can’t make a synthetic version. That’s part of what his research does, he’s trying to fill in the blanks so that we can make synthetic versions.

Sasha my maine coon took a turn for the worst last evening. We spent all morning from 6:00 am on driving in my car listening to Mozart for relaxation looking for a vet who could do the compassionate thing without emptying my wallet. The Humane Society was the place. It's right near where I sing. When I drive that way, I'll think of her when I'm not missing her at home. My short haired tabby who grew up w/Sasha noticed her absence when I came home at noon. It's going to be melancholy around here for awhile. Sasha was the only pet I had that liked my singing. We had once last practice session yesterday - so glad to have her as my number one fan.

Her gentle, lighthearted way will be missed 4ever. I hugged her for quite awhile before the bittersweet handoff. The alternative would have been intensive care, IV's, blood labs and at 15, she would have come home after a lengthy stay and stop eating again. I think when she was crying yesterday, it had to be hunger pain. She hadn't eaten enough for two weeks and was dehydrated too. A vet tech was kind enough to look her over at a place I rejected. She said Sasha was in bad shape. She said it at no cost. I appreciated that and then we left for The Humane Society.

The beautiful princess was still beautiful - just a little gamey, wobbly and boney. Pets are great but when they leave, it's a tough slog.

Prior offenders got the boot - EVEN some women and a guy or two. AI does change their guidelines all the time. That’s patently obvious.

Very sorry for your loss. Did the vet say what was wrong with Sasha?

I have no idea. It sounds like something a bunch of stoners would come up with between Cheeto runs.

“You know what would be awesome??? If we made a movie...about something badass like....um...COWBOYS!!”
“Yeah! But they should fight something....hm...oh! Oh! What if they fought ALIENS?!”
“DUDE, yes. It would be even more wicked awesome if we could get James Bond and Indiana Jones to star in it.”
“But we need a girl. What about that hot girl from House?”
“Where are the Funyons?”

I’d be happy with either James or Scotty winning it. I don’t think Scotty thinks he’s too cute - I think he is genuinely cute. He is only 17.

Either Casey or Haley can go anytime as far as I am concerned.

We are checking the pond for a floater fish, but so far they are all swimming around so far. There was a bite wound on his shoulder so itcould get infected. Time will tell. These goldfish were once tiny feeder fish or little decorative fish, and they have grown into huge fish with big personalities. But so easy, far easier than koi. We do absolutely nothing for them and they are fine.

Finally had a chance to see all the remaining AI contestants performances from the other night, so thought I'd kick in a few thoughts.

Holy moly, but that bearded dude, who was all fussy about what an "artist" he is, gave one of THE worst performances in AI history, in my opinion. He totally misunderstood that Nat King Cole classic and tortured the song into submission. Wow, what a mess. That was an instance when the show really, really, REALLY needed someone as acerbic as Simon to tell that guy the truth.

I can see why the dude they kicked off this week is gone, but really, several of the others could just as easily have gone too. Except for the last guy to sing (the best IMO), and the bearded dude (absolutely the worst IMO), all their performances were sort of meh.

The black dude is pretty good, but really, he's just a garden variety gospel singer trying to break into what passes for R&B these days. Thing is, Bridge Over Troubled Water is not a gospel song. Guy's got a good voice, no question, but his treatment of the song didn't work for me. It's a folk ballad about loyalty, friendship, loving someone so much you'd do anything for them. It should be sung quieter, with more subtlety, but then most of today's vocalists wouldn't know subtle if they fell over it.

The guy who went last was my favorite. I really liked his metal performance, which rocked the house and was very entertaining. If rock is that guy's thing, he's really good at it. But let's face it, that guitar player really helped make the singer look very good.

The guy who sings country and looks straight into the camera with attractive blue eyes is probably one of the favs of the young girls who dominate AI voting, I guess. He's ok, but again, kind of garden variety. Plenty of country singers out there who are as good or better. He's a cutie, though, in a clean-cut all American boy way. Country music is dominated by men, and the #1 trait they all have in common is a hint of danger about them. The AI kid is a little too clean-cut. When he stares into the camera, he doesn't have the hint of danger down yet. He's more comical than scary. More Roger Miller than Johnny Cash.

The rest of them were really forgettable to me. Since this is the first time I've seen any of them fully perform, I have a truly unbiased opinion of them, for what it's worth. :)

We are just tickled pink. :) You just never can tell what school project they do that might get them going in their career path. All this from when he was in the 6th grade and they had to germinate a seed! lol

Gold fish are one of the most forgiving of fish. They can take a lot. Just keep your eyes open for a sick one. Hopefully it will be ok. We had one that got a stem of a plant through its gill. I took a damp paper towel held the fish down and determined which way to pull the stem so that it went with the flow if the gill. Then put it back. It was fine.

The biggest thing is to keep their slime, it protects them.
