Her gentle, lighthearted way will be missed 4ever. I hugged her for quite awhile before the bittersweet handoff. The alternative would have been intensive care, IV's, blood labs and at 15, she would have come home after a lengthy stay and stop eating again. I think when she was crying yesterday, it had to be hunger pain. She hadn't eaten enough for two weeks and was dehydrated too. A vet tech was kind enough to look her over at a place I rejected. She said Sasha was in bad shape. She said it at no cost. I appreciated that and then we left for The Humane Society.
The beautiful princess was still beautiful - just a little gamey, wobbly and boney. Pets are great but when they leave, it's a tough slog.
Very sorry for your loss. Did the vet say what was wrong with Sasha?
I’m very sorry for your loss.
Oh, floriduh, I am so very sorry you lost Sasha. How very sad. It is so hard when their time comes. I am really very sorry.
I am so sorry. I had to have a cat put down for the same conditions, this one a Russian Blue. He was gorgeous, gentle and so easy to love. My companion. I still miss him. Had a maine coon, which died last summer. God in his infinite wisdom gave us our pets to be a part of our families, and it makes it so hard when they leave. You will be in my prayers tonight.
This is sooo sad. I have tears, so sorry to hear about sweet Sasha. Yes, I know how it is....

Know the feeling. We are on our third set of dogs. They become family, and truly do bring comfort in many ways.
Sahsa was fortunate to have such a caring owner.
