Does Jessica Alba have a contract with Fox Movies? She might have some pull w/Fox. Besides, look at all the side things that Ryan Seacrest does. He’s been on most every other network yakking.
LOL. Its always been that way, we just never knew a lot of the details. Over the years they come out, little by little as winners ‘talk’.
Seacrest is executive producer of all the Kardashian garbage. I hate their reality shows. I think they’re kind of a strange bunch and Ryan is rakin’ it in right along with them. I do not watch that family.
I hope freepers get along next week. Now we have our own backstory.
Ryan Seacrest isn’t one of the contestants and i think his contract is different than theirs.
‘American Idol’: Pia Toscano Record Deal Slammed as Rumor
http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979206834
There were rumors that popped up after Pia Toscano was eliminated from American Idol, that the singer had a record deal from Interscope Records, and the record company was rushing to put out an album. That is now being pushed down as a rumor. While Pia Toscano has grabbed the interest of Jimmy Lovine from Interscope, a record deal has not yet been signed, and 19 Management has not yet approved any record deal either.
E! News said the following on Saturday afternoon:
Toscano’s rep tells us that chatter about a done deal is “all rumor,” but E! News has learned that while a record contract hasn’t been signed just yet, Interscope does want to produce a single with Toscano and release it while American Idol is still on.
That's part of the problem, I suspect. The judges are sitting right in front of the performers. The critiques might be more valid if a judge was watching on TV, another judge maybe in the back of the theater, and another one somewhere just listening without seeing the act.
That might be why Simon was such a good judge. He in many cases seemed to be able to interpolate how a performance would translate to those situations.
Part of the fun is the sheer randomness of who is voted off. The whole point of AI is to have a vehicle by which the buying public actually gets to pull the strings, and not have some executives control what we listen to.
JMHO. Another opinion, I still think there's been some manipulation. How did Crystal Bowersox come in second to such a bland and non-Idolike what's-his-name anyway? And what about Jordan Sparks?....she was a bit lifeless and contrived. But we accepted those results. The rules are the rules, and as in the real world of celebrity, the results can be unpredictable. Pia will just have to learn to deal with it with dignity and gratitude if she's ever going to be an "American Idol" in her own right.
I agree with you. AI has been about letting the public decide who wins. If they take that away I think they will lose viewership.
I will gree with you there... Both Paul and stefano should have gone before Pia, long before Pia.
“I didn’t call Yaelle an ignoramus.”
No, you kindly called out me and all those other people who happen to be ignoramuses, whom I happened to be standing near. But you forgot to assure everyone that I was really bright and just kind of hovering Near the ignoramuses. I didn’t know them and I wasn’t even standing all that close to them all.
One of the best singers I've ever heard is, though. She is mistreated by cruise directors, ostracized because of her race, subjected to horrific musicianship and is on the verge of giving it up...but the music business doesn't afford the same opportunities it once did so she may try to stick around the cruise line world. This woman outsings everyone on this years' Idol, but she's 47 years old and overweight.
I think some of the people on this thread would like her, and some, who apparently hate self-confidence in an artistic person, would dislike her for daring to know how good she is at what she does.
You were hovering above the ignoramuses forcing them to think stuff like “This woman will never be voted off the show. Ugh. Let’s vote for everyone but her so she will be forced to leave...then we can watch Stefano, Paul and Casey for the better part of a month.” Or something like that.
Your assumptions on this thread are nothing more than a way to belittle those who don't agree with you.
Can you please get it through your head. (speaking for myself here)
I don't like Pia because of the style of music she sings, the lack of stage performance, her lack of showing any personality on stage besides being a Celine Dion replica, and I don't like how she sings songs. Boring is the best word I can come up with.
I have no problem with women who are attractive, confident, and or talented.
This isn't about jealousy, as you love to keep pointing out.
It is about likes and dislikes.
Jeesh! Some of us just don't like her as an artist.
Please stop the passive aggressive put-downs.
Please feel free to ignore my posts. Thanks in advance.
” That might be why Simon was such a good judge. He in many cases seemed to be able to interpolate how a performance would translate to those situations. “
Good point.
I seem to recall him saying things to the effect or in the studio, on the radio etc.
Which cruise line ?
Princess or Royal Caribbean by chance.
If it’s one of these we have seen her, and she is very good.
She outperforms and outsings the other leads.
True story: One of her entertainment directors thinks he's a singer, and he can barely carry a tune. He wants her to invite him on stage to sing with her, but she will not do it, so he's been badmouthing her all over the ship and writing up bad reports to the powers-that-be, saying she is a terrible singer and giving her general low marks.
She confronted him about it recently. She set up an appointment and went in to ask him why he hated her so much. When she walked in he was listening to a song over his office speakers from a live concert performance of a male instrumental artist featuring a female lead vocalist. She asked him "Do you like that singer?"
He said, "yes, I love this singer...she's one of the greatest singers I've ever heard and I listen to this recording every chance I get, but I don't know who the singer is."
She said, "That's me."
It was! The guy hasn't had much to say to her since.
Lots of musicians have day jobs and moonlight and do music on the weekends if they get something.
I got home from my concert about an hour ago. We weren't pitchy and I got kudos for stage presence because I have a flat face with high cheekbones and act engaged no matter if I'm roasting or frustrated. I did a Snooky bump in my hair today.
It was really hot at the front of the stage; hands all sweaty holding our folders. A little bug crawling down a page. It completely lightened my mood but when I turned the page, I lost track of Mr. Bug.
The conductor made a row for me before the concert and it was so ridiculous that I would do that so I talked the other women to make room for me by them cuz I didn't fix my hair to not be seen. We had one soprano out sick and he was afraid we'd outsing the first sopranos. Didn't happen. It went fine OUR WAY. Even though I felt like leaving, I never do. It was crazy time today but that's what the crowd doesn't see.
